Apple Airs New iPhone 6s Ad Featuring Cookie Monster

Apple aired a new iPhone 6s commercial earlier today, featuring Sesame Street’s popular Cookie Monster character.

The ad is focused on the hands-free Siri capabilities of the iPhone 6s. In the video, Cookie Monster unsurprisingly wants to eat cookies and sets a timer for the oven to finish baking them. Cookie Monster asks Siri to set a timer without interacting with the iPhone’s display and then asks Siri to check how much is left in the timer, also without having to press the Home button.

The ad follows various commercials Apple has aired to highlight 3D Touch and Live Photos, two other features available on the iPhone 6s. You can watch the video below.

Apple Launches Advertising Campaign for Apple News

Speaking of Apple News, Peter Kafka of Re/code reports that Apple has started an advertising campaign focused on the iOS 9 app.

Remember Apple News? Figured. Apple would like to change that, so it’s launching an ad campaign promoting the news aggregator it launched, without much fanfare, last fall.

If you’re in San Francisco, Chicago or New York, you might see the ads on billboards and in airports; the rest of you will have to look for it online.

You can see two examples of the billboards in Re/code’s article, one featuring ESPN and the other featuring VICE – but Kafka notes that Apple is also working with Vox Media.

Apple Airs New ‘The Future of Television’ Apple TV Ad

Apple aired a new one-minute Apple TV ad today, once again highlighting the device’s new Siri features and native app platform.

Your favorite TV shows, movies, games and more are on Apple TV. The future of television is apps.

The commercial – unlike the company’s recent iPhone ads – doesn’t feature any voiceover; instead, it draws from Apple TV’s selection of apps and content to show brief snippets of popular movies and TV shows from Netflix and iTunes, footage from the NBA app, scenes from The Simpsons and Pixar’s Inside Out, and more. As for apps, games such as Asphalt and Guitar Hero Live make an appearance alongside icons of other apps from the Apple TV Home screen.

The commercial is an extended version of Apple’s shorter Apple TV videos and is part of a campaign that also includes billboards reminiscent of the company’s iconic six-color logo. You can watch the video below.

Apple Posts ‘Someday at Christmas’ Ad Featuring Andra Day and Stevie Wonder

Apple uploaded a new holiday commercial today (just ahead of Thanksgiving in the United States) featuring soul singer Andra Day and Stevie Wonder playing Wonder’s 1967 classic ‘Someday at Christmas’.

The ad is notable for a couple of reasons. First, it’s not focused on any particular Apple product, although MacBooks and Apple Watches make a brief appearance. The theme of the ad is Day and Wonder playing and singing together – the ad immediately highlights VoiceOver integration in GarageBand for Mac, one of the Accessibility features that Wonder uses to interact with OS X and manage recorded tracks in the app.

Earlier this year, Apple was honored as a recipient of the Helen Keller Achievement Awards for its implementation of accessible technologies, with a particular mention of VoiceOver by the American Foundation for the Blind.

In a subtle note, the ad closes to a “Love, Apple” message. You can watch the video below.

Apple Posts New iPhone 6s Ad Featuring Bill Hader

Apple aired a new iPhone 6s commercial last night, once again focused on Siri’s hands-free capabilities on the new devices running iOS 9.

Titled ‘Prince Oseph’, the ad shows Bill Hader activating Siri via the “Hey Siri’ command, asking the assistant to check his unread emails. One of the messages found by Siri is likely to be a spam message sent by the aforementioned Prince Oseph in relation to “life-changing opportunities” for the making of “many of millions of currency”. Hader asks Siri to reply with “Sign me up”.

The ad follows Apple’s latest campaign focused on highlighting Siri features on the iPhone 6s, which previously saw Jamie Foxx interacting with Apple’s virtual assistant in similar scenarios. Hader isn’t new to Apple ads, having previously contributed to the company’s WWDC video in June 2015. You can watch the video below.

Apple Posts New iPhone Advert: “Apple Pay”

Apple’s fourth advert featuring the new “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” tagline was last night posted online. The new advert, “Apple Pay”, naturally focuses on Apple Pay, demonstrating Apple’s contactless payment method available on the iPhone 6 in the US and UK. The advert’s narration makes particular mention of how Apple Pay is “faster”, “safer” and keeps your information private.

This is an iPhone, and this is Apple Pay, which lets you shop in a faster, simpler way. For groceries, and kicks, toys and your lunchtime fix. It’s safer than a credit card and keeps your info, yours. And you can already use it in one million stores. If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone.

You can watch the new advert below the break, or on YouTube.

Apple Posts New ‘Photos & Videos’ iPhone Ad

Apple aired a new commercial as part of their “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” campaign, this time focusing on the device’s camera for photos and videos.

The entire ad showcases full-screen photos and videos taken on the iPhone 6, noting that “every day, millions of amazing photos” are shot with iPhone. Unlike other ads in the campaign, there’s no mention of third-party apps – just the iPhone’s camera and animations generated by photos and videos. Previously, Apple had featured iPhone photography with the “Shot on iPhone 6” initiative, which was later expanded to ads, films, and billboards across the world.

You can watch Apple’s latest iPhone commercial below.
