The Apple TV Is Jailbroken, But Not Ready For Apps Yet

Well as usual, that didn’t take long. The header says it all, folks: late last night Musclenerd confirmed that the Apple TV is, indeed, already jailbroken, but they have to figure out how to run apps on it.

The video embedded below shows root access through the SHAtter exploit, and now we just have to wait for the Dev-Team to come up with some solution to install Cydia and run unapproved software on the new device. Personally, I’m back to looking for a way to buy one in Italy.

Just download the patch and double-click on it. After entering your password, your media keys will be free from iTunes’ grasp.

I installed this and it works perfectly.
