Looks like everything’s ready to go for iAds in Europe. With a press release on their official website, European car maker Renault announced that they’ll launch the first iAd campaign in Europe tomorrow, December 2nd.
The advertising campaign will be aimed at promoting the Twizy, a new electric tandem vehicle that will be available next year. It’s a “city car” that’s completely electric and comes with four wheels, a steering wheel and a very unusual shape. The iAd (you can take a look at the video below, in French) will allow users to check on various Twizy information such as charging times.
From the press release:
By launching Twizy’s mobile marketing with iAd, Renault is acknowledging Apple users as being at the forefront of mobility. Without having to exit the app they’re using, iPhone and iPod touch users can explore – and explode – the urban myths about electric vehicles. The iAd has many engaging features including calculating how much a Twizy can charge up while doing activities from getting a haircut to working out, shaking your iPhone or iPod touch to check out various Twizy designs, even pre-reserving a vehicle of your own.
Apple announced they wanted to bring iAds to Europe two weeks ago; initial partners, Renault aside, include L’Orèal, Luis Vuitton, Nespresso and Perrier & Unilever.
