#NewMacStories Launch Giveaway: $450 Worth of Mac Apps Up for Grabs

It’s live, it’s real, it looks great. We’ve finally launched a major new version of MacStories (the one we’ve been calling MacStories 3.0 all along) and what better way to celebrate this launch than giving away some great software?

With the collaboration of a few selected developers, we’re giving away licenses of four masterpieces for the Mac - great apps for a great launch. We think we have a pretty huge giveaway here.

So wait no more, hit the break and go find out what you can win and how. Welcome to the new MacStories.

The Apps

Arq - 5 licenses

Arq is a rather simple application (our review) which allows you to backup files and folders from your Mac to Amazon S3. You just fire up the app, log in with your S3 credentials and choose the folders you want to backup. Then you leave the agent running, and that’s it. S3 is cheaper, and Arq is a great way to never lose important stuff. One of my recommended apps for anyone who’s new to OS X.

Courier - 3 licenses

It came out a few weeks ago in a lot amount of buzz over Twitter, and rightfully so: Courier is a beautiful application. With Courier you can create “envelops” to send files to Vimeo, Youtube, Flickr, CloudApp and many other supported services. It’s fast, it’s customizable (the developers opened an SDK to create custom envelope designs) and it’s gorgeous to look at. Check out our review here if you missed it.

iStat Menus - 5 family pack licenses

Here’s another app everyone with a Mac should install. iStat Menus, developed by the great folks over at Bjango, puts detailed graphs and system information in your Mac menubar. Wanna replace Apple’s default clock with a richer one? Perhaps with timezone support and shiny graphics? There you go. RAM info, CPU usage, processes? All in the menubar. We reviewed the app some months ago here. It’s still an invaluable companion for your Mac, and we’re giving away 5 family packs.

Snippets - 3 licenses

Snippets is the best snippet manager currently available on OS X. It allows you to manage an entire library of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python or Plain Text snippets - but many more languages are supported. The interface is minimal but elegant. It’s a must-have for developers. Cody’s review here.

The Giveaway Rules

To enter the giveaway, hit the Twitter button at the top of this page or retweet this tweet from your favorite app before 11.59 PM PDT (September 15th). We will search Twitter.com for tweets and retweets and randomly pick up the winners.

Make sure to follow @macstoriesnet on Twitter so we can send you a direct message with the promocode of the app you won.

If you want to increase your odds of winning, you can also leave a comment to this post. Tell us why you’d like to win one of the apps listed above, and that’s it. Only one entry per method is allowed.

Winners will be announced tomorrow (September 16th).

Good luck!
