Back in April, Cody Fink posted a very thorough review of the 1.0 release of Kiwi for Mac, but now it’s time to follow up with a little sneak peek of version 2 - due out tomorrow, November 24. Yourhead, the company that makes Kiwi, has given me a little taste and I have to say the new version adds some great new features to an already very nice Mac desktop client.

Steve Jobs Says They’re Taking A “Giant Leap To Driverless Printing”
Ok, so AirPrint’s removal from OS X 10.6.5 left a few people disappointed. Users were expecting to be able to print from iOS 4.2 to any printer shared through a Mac or PC, but the feature didn’t make the cut in the final version of 10.6.5. Sure, you can achieve the same functionality using 3rd party tools like Printopia, but unofficial tweaks – even if well developed and stable – are never quite like Apple’s own implementation. In the case of AirPrint, mostly because it takes huge resources and teams to achieve stable and fast driverless printing.
That is exactly what Steve Jobs allegedly told a MacRumors forum member in a recent email exchange. Apple is doing the best they can to re-introduce the feature in the next iterations of OS X, and we have to wait. Read more

Mac OS X 10.6.5 Update Fixes MacBook Air Graphic Issues
A few weeks ago we reported of the graphic issues and kernel panics many users were experiencing on the new MacBook Airs. The issues got quickly reporte to Apple, which acknowledged them in a document leaked by BGR. With the latest Mac OS X 10.6.5 update, it seems like the issues have been fixed.
As Apple writes in a support document:
Symptoms
After waking from sleep, your MacBook Air display may flicker or fade from light to dark repeatedly.
Resolution
Download and apply the Mac OS X v10.6.5 update to resolve this issue.

Kinect, OS X and iPad Come Together In Futuristic Cubes
As if being able to display Kinect’s captured images on OS X wasn’t enough, the solid community behind Kinect’s incredible hacks managed to manipulate the data recorded by Kinect and output everything on OS X using cool futuristic cubes (a system called Box Cloud). These neon cubes may vary in size according to the distance of the subject from the camera – it’s overall a pretty cool thing to look at.
But modders and hackers took the whole concept a step further and allowed iPad users to control “planes of interest” using their multitouch tablet. With the iPad you can change the colors visualized on screen, adjust zoom by tilting the device. Somehow, it all comes together in the video below.
