My 3 Favorite OmniFocus Addons

I stash my GTD in OmniFocus. For many months now I’ve been a die-hard OmniFocus user, and no one - I repeat, no one - can’t take my GTD away from OmniFocus and me. Not even a buggy iOS 4.2 beta that prevented me from loggin in my Omni Sync Server database in the iPad app. OmniFocus perfectly fits my workflow because it lets me add tasks and throw anything in there in seconds, but it’s also got the power I need when digging through dozens of projects and contexts. OmniFocus keeps my workflow on rails.

In the past two weeks I started looking for some neat hacks/tweaks/addons to integrate the OmniFocus desktop application with other parts of my workflow: the browser, Google Reader and DEVONthink. Here’s what I found. Read more

N.O.V.A. 2 Coming to the iPhone [Teaser]

N.O.V.A. by Gameloft is probably one of the most critically acclaimed and successful FPS games ever released in the App Store. Released in 2009 and eventually ported to the iPad (the developers even demoed the tablet version on stage when the iPad was announced), N.O.V.A. has managed to gain thousands of players and fans. It’s been a huge success for Gameloft.

Gameloft posted a teaser video of N.O.V.A. 2 for iPhone on Youtube a few minutes ago. It doesn’t show much, besides “Stay Tuned” and “We need you once more”. There are 3 seconds of actual in-game graphics in the video, and man it looks impressive. Check out the video and a screengrab below. We don’t usually cover games, but I’m excited about this one. Weather HD Comes To The iPhone

I remember when the iPad came out in April I sat in front of my MacBook and watched all the videos of new apps I could find on Youtube. The Yankees were getting a new shiny Apple tablet and I was not  - but then eventually I spent some bucks more than I would expect and bought one from the US. It’s been a great companion ever since. Among the apps I was desperately looking at on Youtube there was one that caught my attention: Weather HD. Read more

An Impressive iPhone Newspaper Ad [Video]

A few agencies get mobile advertising just right, and a very few companies seem to understand that you need a good iPhone app to let people engage with your product. Most companies think that pushing a web application wrapped in an iPhone app out in the App Store is enough; Belgium-based insurance company AXA is different.

Not only AXA was the first insurance company to deploy a good iPhone application, now they also realized an impressive interactive ad that requires users to point the iPhone over a blank spot on a newspaper and watch the magic happen. Seriously, just take a look at the video below. It may be a gimmick and it may not be so informative, but it catches your attention; it kind of forces you to stare at that video for a minute.

Impressive. [via TWN] Read more

Sintek Denies iMac Touch Rumors

A few days ago tech news website Digitimes reported that, according to their sources, Sintek Productions had already sent Apple some sample of a 20-inch capacitive touch screen to use in a future iteration of the iMac. Digitimes claimed:

Sintek Photronics has reportedly sent samples of projected capacitive touch panels to Apple to be incorporated in the latest iMac all-in-one (AIO) PC, according to industry sources.

The new iMac is rumored to have a good vertical and horizontal viewing angle, and its projected capacitive touch panel will adopt a one-glass solution, which integrates the touch sensor and cover glass, to reduce thickness and weight.
