Despite some initial doubts about a not exactly happy start, Apple’s iAd program is predicted to match Google in the mobile market share by year’s end, and we’ve heard stories about iAds becoming a real gold mine for developers. We’ve also heard complaints from advertisers about Apple’s strict control on ad approval - something huge corporations like, say, Nissan or AT&T are not used to. Businesses weren’t used to “ad approval process” before Apple, and that’s all because Steve Jobs wants to build an ad system that engages users at a personal level with curated, rich and beautiful advertisements. Louis Gray: “Apple TV Extends Fragmentation”
While Android is clearly struggling with the challenge of bringing 2.2 support to all the latest handsets (and making progress), we see Apple TV running a variant of iOS (mixed with the traditional Apple TV OS), different than that of the iPhone/iPod Touch, with iPads still not having iOS 4, and yes, Macs still being Macs.
Let me break it down for you, Louis: Macs have a physical keyboard, iPads and iPhone have a touchscreen, the new Apple TV plugs into your television. Pretty simple to understand.
A Docking Station For Your iMac, iPad and iPhone
I bought an iMac a few weeks ago, and I had to re-think my workspace to fit a new desktop computer and two docks (iPhone and iPad) on a single desk. It turned out pretty good, and I also managed to hide the cables (USB, FireWire) behind the iMac’s screen and the external hard drive. I wish I could install something like the concept below, though. Apple’s Segmentation Strategy, and the Folly of Conventional Wisdom
Apple has launched three major new product lines since 2001: the iPod (October, 2001); the iPhone (July, 2007); and the iPad (April, 2010).
The company’s stock is up 3,000 percent since the launch of iPod, 125 percent since the launch of iPhone, and 20 percent since the launch of iPad.
In that same time period, the major devotees of the loosely coupled model – Microsoft, Google, Intel and Dell – have been, at best, outpaced by Apple 6X (in the case of Google dating back to the launch of iPod) and at worst, either been wiped out (in the case of Dell) or treaded water (in the cases of Microsoft and Intel) in every comparison period.

iMac Touch Panel Samples Already Sent to Apple?
I’m pretty sure the iMac Touch rumor is one of the best ones we’ve had to deal recently: Digitimes has played the most important role in this story, reporting about the iMac Touch in January thus starting an all-new rumor chain that extended to websites such as LoopRumors. Then, about a month ago, Patently Apple discovered an actual patent for an iMac computer capable of shifting from a classic desktop configuration to a touch-based, iOS-like interface. Read more
The Apple TV Is Jailbroken, But Not Ready For Apps Yet
Well as usual, that didn’t take long. The header says it all, folks: late last night Musclenerd confirmed that the Apple TV is, indeed, already jailbroken, but they have to figure out how to run apps on it.
The video embedded below shows root access through the SHAtter exploit, and now we just have to wait for the Dev-Team to come up with some solution to install Cydia and run unapproved software on the new device. Personally, I’m back to looking for a way to buy one in Italy.

The Woz on Big Bang Theory [Video]
What’s better than Big Bang Theory, Apple II file system jokes and Steve Wozniak to end just another boring work day? I’m telling you: nothing. No, not even that unreleased 11-inch MacBook Air polished with unicorn tears you got from some creepy Chinese dude can beat this.
So jump after the break, and enjoy a rough clip of today’s Steve Wozniak appearance at CBS’s Big Bang Theory, courtesy of MacRumors. Read more
Virtual Input Devices and 3D the Future of OS X?
Patently Apple may have uncovered a first look of a possible next-generation core feature of a future version of OS X. Apple’s patent filing details “virtual input devices” that could relate to the future of iOS gaming and Mac OS multi-touch screens with 3D interaction.
Cold Hard Cash Makes Up For App Store Drawbacks
