The Prompt: Viticci Seal Of Quality

This week Myke and Federico explore the possibility of an iPad pro and the different routes Apple could take to build this mythical product. There’s also an ‘after show’ discussing Polygon’s Game of the Year awards and what games they have been playing recently.

We used my article about the rumors of an iPad Pro as a starting point to discuss multitasking in the age of touch and thinking of apps as features instead of windows. Get the episode here.

The Internet In Your Pocket

On the seventh anniversary of the original iPhone announcement, the boys take a look back at Steve Jobs’ keynote.

Seven years ago today, Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone at Macworld. We wanted to properly celebrate the iPhone’s seventh birthday with a special episode that would offer a look back at the rumors, excitement, and speculation that led up to Jobs’ keynote. I think that we did a good job, and you can find the episode here.

The Prompt: Too Long; Didn’t Listen

This week, the boys talk about music consumption.

Specifically, we talked about iTunes Match, Rdio, Spotify, and the differences between these services and apps in terms of sound quality, user experience, and royalties paid to artists. I had a lot of fun doing research for this episode and putting together links for the show notes – which I recommend checking out.

We’re not done discussing music but this is a good start. Get the episode here.

The Prompt: Radioactive Chocolate Cake

This week, Jason Snell puts on his best Italian accent and joins Stephen and Myke to talk about online collaboration, keyboards and the third rail of 5by5 podcasting — comic books.

Bad news: as you may know by now, I couldn’t record on Wednesday due to issues with my ISP.

Good news: Myke and Stephen had a great discussion with Jason about iPads, comics, and more. And: my Internet should be back next week. Get the episode here.
