If you have a team to manage, I bet you’re using 37signals’ Basecamp to keep everything under strict control yet enabling every single component of your team access the app and keep you updated about his tasks. Yeah, that’s exactly the greatest selling point of Basecamp, and the reason why thousands of people around the world use it on a daily basis. MacStories is no exception to that.

But on the other hand, I guess you also have a GTD application sitting in your dock, just because you find the GTD method comfortable and suitable to your needs. Apple Doesn’t Want Kaspersky In the App Store

“Speaking exclusively to PC Pro, the CEO of Kaspersky Lab claimed Apple has repeatedly refused to deliver the software development kit (SDK) necessary to design security software for the phone.

“We have been in contact for two years with Apple to develop our anti-theft software, [but] still we do not have permission,” said Kaspersky.”

Even without actually seeing the app? That’s interesting.

Lights - Beautiful Mac OS X Mod

PrekeshC Deviantart user has released Lights, a graphical mod for Mac OS X which acts on the default traffic lights, making them..simply beautiful. I don’t have a good relationship with Mac OS’ normal traffic lights, so I went for it and applied the theme using Themepark. It just needs a logout to be set and running. So, from now on you’ll see them in every screenshot on MacStories, making my desktop setup sexier and lickable.

Mailroom, the Better, Faster GMail Client

When Federico and I initially reviewed Mailroom, our review wasn’t exactly the most positive. We felt the app wasn’t ready for the primetime, and I didn’t want to leave a sour taste in people’s mouths. The application really did have potential, and it seems the developer has been listening to the influx of suggestions. Today, I’d like to Re-Review Mailroom, because it has become a really great GMail client for the iPhone.

Screenflow 2.1 Adds “Publish as Flash” Feature, 64-bit Audio Capture

Screenflow, the excellent screencasting application we reviewed a while ago here, has been updated to the 2.1 version which adds a bunch of interesting new features. In the mood of supporting the never-ending Flash format, Screenflow now allows to directly export a video in Flash, automatically generating all the required components. The update also includes many bug fixes, support for 64-bit system audio capture and “forever-saving” of documents.

Porting iPhone Apps to the iPad, Why It Might Not Work

“You can actually see this problem already on Apples iPad website. Why do you think Apple doesn’t ship iPad versions of the calculator, the clock, the weather app or the stocks app? Because they wouldn’t live up to Apples standards, if you’d just blow them up to the iPads screen.”

I definitely agree with this. It’s either rewrite the whole app, or you’re busted.

iPad Keyboard Dock and 10W USB Power Adapter Delayed to May

By visiting the Apple Store we noticed that today Apple has delayed the iPad keyboard dock and 10w USB power adapter to May, thus missing the official April 3rd launch. With this move, the only accessories available at launch will be the iPad Dock and iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter, still scheduled for April 3rd release. iPad case is due to ship on “mid April”.
