Last night we noticed that Tweetie 2 was pulled from the App Store, and it made us think that the official client called “Twitter for iPhone” would come soon. Well, Twitter for iPhone is now live in the App Store, just follow this link. (it’s still propagating in the App Store)

I have a problem with computer desktops in general, and it’s that I’m fidgety. I’m not so bad on Windows for whatever reason, but on the Mac I’m always shuffling desktop windows around, resizing things, trying to align things perfectly so my OCD doesn’t kick in. And I’ve tried hundreds of solutions here on MacStories, and even recorded lame’o videos for some. But god forbid I ever end this tireless quest, so today I present you with Divvy.
I love Vimeo. Great videos are on it, the design of the website is great, the embeddable player is great. Youtube looks like crap when compared to Vimeo, and that’s a given. If you have an iPad though, you may have noticed that Vimeo videos don’t play inline as Youtube videos do. I’m telling you, this was driving me crazy.
Fortunately, someone has come up with a temporary solution to make sure that Vimeo videos play inline before the official HTML5 embed comes out. You should go thank Squaregirl over here. I suggest you to bookmark it.
The iPad is the perfect device for photos: being very similar to a digital frame, it’s no surprise that most of the people I know have asked me to show off pictures on it, because it feels natural and well fitted on that large surface. Considering that Apple also introduced support for much of the goodness avaialable in iPhoto such as Places and Events, it’s clear that experiencing photos was one of the first features that came to Steve’s mind when the iPad was still a sketch.
When you go online though, your photos are on Flickr. Sure there are a bunch of other services to browse and archives photos (Picasa, MobileMe) but if you’re really serious about your collection you open an Flickr Pro account. Period.
Now think about what’s in between: a great Flickr app for the iPad. While we’re still waiting for Mike Bernardo to announce his plans for a new version of Flickit, FlickStackr for the iPad is where it’s at.
Back in December I reviewed Notify 2 from Vibealicious and wrote that it was one of the best applications released in 2009. For those who don’t know, Notify is a menubar application for Mac which allows you to check for incoming mail messages in almost every kind of account (Gmail, IMAP, MobileMe and Rackspace) without having a mail client running all the time. It’s a lightweight notifier that runs in the background and check for new messages at a scheduled interval and presents them to you via Growl notifications, inside a beautifully designed interface.
Today, Vibealicious has released the long awaited 2.1 update for Notify, which introduces a new backend, new features and lots of fixes and improvements.
Available here in the App Store, don’t blame me if you’ll try to cook Italian and fall in love with it. Feel free to ask for suggestions.
iGrapher is a web based financial market visualizer that allows you to check in-depth charts and predictions of different stock and currency markets. Today we’ve found out that the developer of iGrapher is working on a 3D port of his software for the iPad.
Called “iGrapher 3D”, the app already looks smooth and fast, and we can’t wait to try a build on our iPads. In the meantime, check out the preview video after the break.
