Spotify 0.4 for iPhone Now Available

To all the people who can use Spotify on their iPhone, here’s an interesting update for the official mobile client, that hits version 0.4. Here’s the changelog:

  • Last.fm scrobbling.
  • The ability to open and play Spotify links e.g. straight from your Facebook app or browser.

  • Save time and space by using tracks already stored on your iPod in your playlists - there’s no need to sync those track anymore.

  • Save and find your favourite tracks and albums with the - Starred playlist and Star buttons (also coming to the desktop version soon!).

  • The ability to sync your purchased Spotify tracks over Wifi.

  • A new look for albums and playlists.

  • The ability to set playlist as collaborative or not.

  • The ability to search in playlists.

  • The ability to create a new playlist from the Add to Playlist view.

  • Playlists named “-” show up as separators.

  • Support for listening at 96 kb/s for more efficient streaming on slow connections.

  • Spotify remembers when you were when you quit and starts up at the same location.

  • Album reviews added to album view.

  • Volume slider uses system volume.

  • Volume normalization option added

Spotify is rumored to be “released” in the US later this year, but there’s no official word about it yet. If you’re still wondering, it’s a great service.

iTunes 9.1 Now Available, Brings iPad Features

It’s here, it’s in Software Update. The much rumored iTunes 9.1 is finally available for download, and it introduces the expected iPad synchronization options, including iBooks. We’re getting there, folks.

From the changelog:

iTunes 9.1 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

- Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on the go

- Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library

- Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes



Bluebird 1.0 Beta 3 Now Available

Bluebird, the Twitter client developed by 13bold (you may have heard this name before, they’re the creators of Bowtie), has been updated to the 1.0 beta 3 version. The new beta sports significant UI improvements, support for username autocompletion and emoji, bug fixes and a more minimalistic style overall.

The iPhone and Verizon, Will it ever End?

You know, I just want there to be world peace. Love and happiness. iPhone and Verizon. But good grief, it seems the drama never ends. In every coming release, even with the iPad, there’s always been rumors of Apple hooking up with Verizon. And while I’d love to see the two making sweet love under that beautiful red network, I don’t know if I see it happening. When the WSJ noted today that a new version of the iPhone would be made for Verizon, people freaked. After all, the WSJ is a big news source. Gizmodo is skeptical (right?), but says that if it does happen, it’ll be a pretty big deal. Gruber on the other hand, calls bollocks. So, what should we expect? Read more
