Flight Control HD for Mac Coming Later This Month via Steam

Although Firemint already announced a Mac version of award-winning game Flight Control, dubbed Flight Control HD, will be released in the Mac App Store, Mac users will be able to download the game later this month via Steam.

The Steam version of Flight Control HD will feature a brand-new, exclusive map. The new “Stunt Flying” map will introduce an exciting new gameplay element, where you can score extra points for flying through a course of stunt cones before landing. This adds a new challenge to the much-loved and insanely addictive gameplay first made famous by the worldwide iPhone hit that has now been downloaded more than 3 million times.
Flight Control HD for Steam will also feature Steam achievements and leaderboards, and will be available world-wide.

Mac gaming got a lot more interesting since the release of Steam, and it’s about to get even better with the Mac App Store. In case you haven’t yet, go check out Flight Control for iPhone and iPad here and here.

Letterbox Now 10.6.5 Compatible

Letterbox is a must-have plugin for Apple Mail which takes advantage of widescreen monitors and lets you display messages in a 3-column widescreen view. Apple Mail doesn’t support this by default.

The plugin is now fully 10.6.5 compatible, all you have to do is head over the official website, download the bundle and double click on it to install. Mail will restart and the plugin will be activated. In Mail’s preferences window you’ll be able to access Letterbox’s options, which allow you to switch back to preview pane at the bottom, enable alternate row colors and show a divider line between rows. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Coming To The Mac

GTA, one of the most popular “mature” videogame series which sold million of copies on consoles and handhelds, is coming to the Mac. And it’s coming with a trilogy, a package containing GTA III (the first 3D episode of the series), GTA Vice City and the acclaimed GTA: San Andreas, my favorite GTA episode so far. The games originally came out on Sony’s PlayStation 2.

The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most highly demanded titles by the Mac community. The availability of this incredible franchise on the Mac underscores TransGaming’s role in transforming the overall Mac gaming market,” commented Vikas Gupta, President & CEO of TransGaming, in the press release. “These games will be widely available and will be a great catalyst to the increasing popularity of gaming on the Mac.

Activate AirPrint On OS X 10.6.5 With One Click

Even though it is believed that people nowadays don’t print much (I surely don’t), Apple’s removal of support for AirPrint shared printing on the latest version of OS X, 10.6.5, raised a few eyebrows. They had announced the feature, but they didn’t deliver with 10.6.5 – even if previous developer version of the OS update had AirPrint enabled.

It seems like it was too unstable to make it to the final version, but some are suggesting the folks at Cupertino are dealing with patent trolling issues for shared printers in AirPrint. We don’t know. Read more

Shellfish Safari Extension Takes You On A Lonely Trip To The Internet

If you live on the Internet, if you ready dozens of blog posts every day but you hate the fact that the latest trend among publishers is to put tons of sharing buttons in their pages – then you’ll love this extension fo Safari called Shellfish.

Also available for Chrome and Opera users and released a few months ago, Shellfish strips away all the Twitter, Facebook and Digg buttons that suggest you share stuff with your friends. “Be Shellfish”, writes the developers on the extension’s site. Other services such as AddThis, AddToAny, Apture and Tweetmeme are blocked as well.

Shellfish is available here and works as advertised. If you think there’s no need to share anything, go install it.

1Password 3.5 Released With New Chrome Extension, Better Dropbox Integration

Last week we talked about the new Google Chrome extension included in 1Password for Mac beta: it looks great and it retains the look of the app we all love on our Mac desktops. With the public release of 1Password 3.5 today, AgileWeb Solution is bringing the new and updated Chrome extension to life together with lots of bug fixes, better Dropbox sync status visualization in the sidebar and overall performance improvements.

MacGraPhoto Bundle: 9 Mac Graphics Apps, $39.99

It looks like bundles of OS X software are back and this time their creators are really focused on providing quality, rather than mere quantity. The MacGraPhoto bundle, launched yesterday, features 9 popular Mac graphics applications worth $444 at the affordable price of $39.99. That’s not a bad deal, is it?
