Yeah, best apps of the year.
Purity Brings Easy History and Cache Cleaning to Mac
So,you bought a Mac and you think you’ll never have to mess with caches, logs and disk space wasting space anymore, right? Well, this is wrong. You should know, in fact, that your Mac will store these kinds of files overtime, and these files will start wasting a lot of of your hard drive if you don’t use a 3rd party cleaning software, or just do it manually. That’s why apps such CleanMyMac exist. Today another similar app has been released, it’s called Purity, it’s created by Tim Parnell (one of the devs of Tinygrab) and it’s amazingly simple.
Create Custom Springboard Layouts with Iconoclasm
If there’s something great about jailbreak, that’s the possibility to completely theme and modify the original iPhone user interface. Thanks to that amazing tool called Winterboard, you can download and install custom themes on your phone, which will change everything from icons and statusbar color to the dialpad and settings page. Be sure to check out my roundup about 12 best Winterboard themes if you missed it. Anyway, today I’d like to talk about a nice tweak I’ve just purchased from the Cydia Store: it’s called Iconoclasm, and it lets you arrange your icons on the Springboard in a whole different way.
Record Your Life with Momento, a Diary Writing App for iPhone.
Someone once said “Life gives us brief moments with another…but sometimes in those brief moment we get memories that last a life time…”. And this is absolutely true: you don’t remember your entire life, you just remember some moments of what you’ve gone through, that’s how human mind works. Now, this is the main reason why people sometimes choose to write songs and books or paint something, right? They want that particular moment to be remembered forever. But if you think about it, wouldn’t it be simpler to just write down every important moment of every single day?
Meet Momento, a diary and journal application for iPhone.
Apple Orders 10-Inch Tablet Displays Amid iSlate Talk
“A subsidiary of Foxconn, Innolux, will supply Apple with the majority of 10-inch glass displays and Wintek, which provides most iPhone display panels, will handle the remainder, according to Taiwan’s DigiTimes. The publication said Apple could announce its tablet in January with major shipments by March, 2010. One report has suggested Apple has told Foxconn it needs 300,000 tablets per month. If true, the report would dovetail with recent speculation Apple booked San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Jan. 26 for a product announcement.
Even before the tablet is unveiled the product hit a delay, prompting the wait until the first quarter of 2010. Apple has been searching for a way to strengthen the tablet’s glass panel, according to DigiTimes. Reportedly, another Foxconn subsidiary, G-Tech Optoelectronics, will provide the answer.
In another hint suppliers are ramping up for an Apple tablet, Cheng Uei Precision received orders for flat-panel “connectors.” However, the company suggests the components won’t ship until the third quarter of 2010, appearing to dispute a January announcement.”
Seems like this time is real. They should have told me that Christmas would come with a 30 days delay, anyway.

Read It Later Restyled Finally Available
After the release of Read It Later’s major update for iPhone (read my review if you missed it), the web interface went under a huge restyling too. Now the RiL platform shares the same interface between the web reading list, the iPhone app and the famous Firefox addon.
But what about the Mac? Is there an official Read It Later client for our desktops? The answer is no. But, there’s this Josh Nichols guy, who put together a userscript called “Read It Later Restyled” that brings the awesomeness of the newest update to a Fluid app near you. Just create a SSB with Fluid, download the userscript and place it into yourname/Library/Application Support/Fluid/Read It Later/Userscripts.
The result is gorgeous, and you can also download some custom icons from Josh Nichols’ website. Can’t wait to see what Instapaper Restyled creator will come up with.
