According to Sony, the iPhone isn’t built for serious games. It’s built for texting your granma and calling your girl, Marcus Rivers claims in the latest Sony ad for $9.99 PSP Favorites.

Hidden iOS 4 Code Suggests Verizon iPhone and iPad 2 Being Field-Tested
Interesting rumor Boy Genius Report has published today: according to one of their Apple sources, there’s a block of code buried deep down in iOS 4 which proves that both the CDMA iPhone and next iPad are about to hit the field test stage. The code makes sure that the device doesn’t need iTunes activation to work:
“Our source says that the code queries the device, and if the device is either a CDMA iPhone or iPad 2, the device will auto-activate, thus bypassing the need for iTunes. We’re told this block of code has appeared every year consecutively before a major iPhone / device release, removed right before launch.”
Another source also told BGR that the code name for the CDMA iPhone is N92AP, while John Gruber said it was N92. The next iPod Touch platform code should be N81AP.
January launch for the Verizon iPhone keeps sounding very likely to me. As for the iPad, the iPad-as-a-line idea (like MacBooks and iMacs, with different sizes, specs) is growing on me.

Carmack Shows Us The Future of Gaming on iPhone [Video]
id Software isn’t new to impressive tech demos. Remember when they first showed Doom 3? The game eventually turned out to be pretty boring and full of cliches, but the technology behind it was impressive.
John Carmack, co-founder of id Software, showed off Rage for iPhone yesterday at QuakeCon 2010. Yes, that Rage. The tech demo is impressive, and it relies on the proprietary megatexture technology that id Software used in the past. Carmack said that demo was working on an iPhone 4, but the engine (he calls it “game framework”) works great both on the iPad and the original iPhone 2G. According to the VG247 the title will be available in the App Store later this year, and a second one will be released together with the official PC version in 2011.

The Incident
When Matt Comi and friends Neven Mrgan and Cabel Sasser set out to create a one of a kind experience on the iPhone and iPad, they not only succeeded in delivering something that met everyone’s expectations: they knocked it out of the park.
The iPhone, iPad Controlled Massage Chair You Want to Have
I’m sure Steve Jobs has upgraded his squeaky office chair for the Human AcuTouch 9500 by now. Not only does it automatically adjust to all those tender spots on your delicate body, it remembers how you like to lounge and transitions any susceptible being into a state of orgasmic relaxation. I’m not kidding when I say this is the most advanced lawn chair/massage ornament in existence.

Keep Track of Where Your Money Is with Tabs
Sometimes you lend those 5 bucks to that good friend of yours and you never get them back. But he’s a good friend, right? “I promise, I’ll give your money back as soon as I get paid!”.
Sure. I’ve been fooled many times. Too many. Now I have an app for that. And yes, I’m looking at you - you supposedly good friend of mine who still has to give me 37 Euros for the dinner I bought you three weeks ago.
Tabs by Patrick Mandia lets you keep track of where your money is and notify “your buddies”. You create a new tab for each contact who owes you money, you enter date and amount, then you’ll be able to either call him (mob-style), send him a message or an email. Too bad there’s no “here’s where he lives, go get him” option in the Settings. Perhaps in a future update.
Tabs is only $0.99 in the App Store. Go buy it, but don’t gift it to anyone.
This is an offer you can’t offer you can’t refuse.
