Kickstarter Project: Adonit WRITER

Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. They have helped projects like the TikTok+LunaTik watch kit for iPod Nano and the Glif tripod mount / stand for iPhone. Today, we thought we would show you a project that’s aimed at all of our hearts, the iPad.

Adonit has started a project via Kickstarter for their product WRITER, an iPad case + keyboard. Adonit is trying to raise $10,000 to get this project funded by February 3 and currently has over $7,000 (US). Read more

iPad Portraits: The Woz

David Newman is one of the most talented artists that use the iPad as a canvas for their creations. We covered David’s impressive portraits before, but his latest is just too great and geeky to not deserve another spot here. I mean, it’s the Woz!

That’s right, a portrait of Steve Wozniak while using a MacBook with his custom white iPhone 4 sitting on a Glif. The portrait was entirely realized on an iPad and Steve set it as his new profile picture on Facebook. It can’t get any geekier than this.

Check out the animation video of the portrait below. As usual, Newman doesn’t disappoint.[via RazorianFly] Read more

TikTok & LunaTik For iPod Nano Raise $300,000 In One Week

Initially, Wilson was hoping to raise $15,000 in 30 days, to get the watchbands into production. But guess what? The watch has become a bona fide Internet sensation, raising over $275,000 on Kickstarter in just a week, from 3,700 backers – and $180,000 in the first three days alone.

Remember the TikTok+LunaTik project? It has become one of KickStarter’s most successful campaigns ever. Even better than The Glif. I guess there is a market for well-realized iPod Nano wristbands, after all.
