iPhone Supplies Running Dry, iPhone 3G Dead?

Mac Rumors is reporting that iPhone stock is getting slim in some places, and that Apple has stopped supplying new iPhones to AT&T stores. If you were in the mood to get a new device, wait, because new ones are probably on the way. In some places, such as Australia, the iPhone 3G can’t even be purchased anymore. So it looks like the iPhone 3GS might be our new $99 standard, while the next generation iPhone will continue to be priced at $199.

Publishers Wary of Making iPad Content, However Prospect Looks Good

Is HTML 5 that hard to learn? While I understand companies don’t want to put time and effort into diverging from Flash, or simply making additional HTML content, many European publishers are wary of diving into Apple’s iPad pool of awesome. Although they have been keeping tabs on the boys down under, mainly Australia’s The Australian newspaper. Marketing a digital copy of their paper package for the iPad platform, they too are struggling to make the immediate switch from Flash to HTML - but they promise good things. If these guys continue doing well, they’ll set the example for publishers all around the world. After all, some companies may not be that good right now.

ChangeWave Research conducted a survey which suggests 16% of current share in the e-Reader market is through the iPad alone. If Apple continues to sell, and the price is right, publishers just might be able to make it in the digital world.

Look At Your Music with Tune Frame for iPad

The iPad is the perfect devices for parties: just fill it up with some good music, some great DJ apps and you’ll see people gathering all around it trying to touch the screen, put on some tunes and tell you “dude, this thing is awesome”. It happened, and it happened before with the iPhone.

The iPad is also a great single person media-consuming device though. I watch movies with it, I have podcasts synced with iTunes and I definitely spend too much time browsing the Youtube application. I also installed this neat Tune Frame app as well, and I think you should do the same.

A New iPhone Could Push Apple’s Stock to the $400 Mark

Seventeen percent of all Verizon customers could switch to the iPhone if it ever landed in the nation’s largest network. At least that’s what Katy Huberty from Morgan Stanley suggests, claiming that Verizon could sell 7 million iPhone units by year’s end. Further surveys reveal that 58% of all current iPhone customers plan to update to a next generation model, which would equate to the sale of 18 million new units. She contemplates whether Apple would drop the price of their iPhone (or an iPhone) by  $50, arguing that cheaper phone would ultimate sell more units. But amidst all these numbers, she boldly guesstimates that Apple may reach the $400 stock mark, which would be absolutely incredible (for any company) to reach. Time will only tell, an even though Android handsets are selling well, nothing has been slowing down the iPhone.

iPhone Coming to Sprint?

For the love of Jobs, what’s with carrier rumors this year? We’ve heard enough about Verizon through the grapevine, but Sprint? Certainly this would allow the iPhone 4G to live up to its name, but these are just whispers in a forest of wishful thinking. Though in reality, if Apple really did extend their reach to both Sprint and Verizon, would Apple finally prove to the world that their iPhone is a bigger contender than their Android competitors? I’m not sure how an even battlefield (in this case the lack of carrier exclusivity) would play out, but let’s not jump the gun here; WWDC is only days away, and Jobs will certainly have a few aces up his sleeve.
