Apple Updates iWork.com with Keynote Animations, Private Online Storage

A few minutes ago Apple sent out an email to iWork.com beta users to inform them of some new features such as support for 15 new Keynote animations, private online storage for documents and sharing on social networks with a Public link. Support fo the new Keynote animations was actually introduced with the latest iWork update 5, although now Apple is letting users know that they can access presentations shared on iWork.com online with an iPad and swipe with their fingers to advance slides.

As for the new storage options, you can access documents marked as private from anywhere. iWork.com also provides a link to embed presentations on a website or blog now, which we think is a pretty neat feature.

Check out the full description and screenshots of the new features below.

Play back Keynote ‘09 presentations on the web, complete with animations.

Using Keynote for Mac, share your presentations and let viewers experience them with over 15 animations, video, hyperlinks, and audio. Play back a presentation on iWork.com using the latest version of Safari on a Mac or PC, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Just swipe to advance slides on your iPad using Safari.

New publishing options for public sharing and private online storage.

Upload your documents for private online storage and easily access them from anywhere, or share your documents on social networks using a Public link. Also, you can now embed your presentation seamlessly on a website or blog using the embed code provided by iWork.com. To take advantage of these new features on iWork.com, make sure you’re using the latest version of iWork for Mac. To update iWork, go to the Apple menu, choose Software Update, and install any available updates for iWork. To share a document from Keynote ‘09, Pages’09, or Numbers ‘09, choose “Share via iWork.com” from the Share menu.
