Creature24: An iPhone Game in 24 Hours, Plus Software Giveaway

From the website:

“An iPhone/iPod touch game made by 3 guys in just 24 hours.

Yes, you read that right! 3 guys… 24 hours.

Starting with just a skeleton idea; the three of us will implement a complete game from nothing, to full submission to the AppStore within 24 hours.

The fun begins on Saturday, March 6th at 9:00am EST.

Watch it all unfold LIVE right before your eyes by following our Blog during the event. Each of us will be posting updates on our progress throughout the day. You’ll be able to view sketches, graphics and screenshots as and when they’re made, listen to sound effects and music as they’re created, and comment on any post that we make on the site.”

Seems like after the OneWeekApp event the goal is to create apps in the shortest timeframe. They’re also giving away some apps, starting with Pixelmator. I’ll check it out anyway.

Where is Mozilla Ubiquity?

Link

“Though the main Ubiquity project is now on the back burner, Mozilla Firefox users might one day get a simplified version of a natural language command tool by way of something called Taskfox. At one point, Taskfox was intended for inclusion in Firefox 3.6, but that didn’t happen. Firefox 3.6 came out earlier this year, while Taskfox is still under development and currently there isn’t a specific timetable for when it will become part of the mainline Firefox browser release.”

Delibar Updated to 1.3, Adds Pinboard Support

Delibar, the beautiful Mac app that enables you to keep track of your Delicious bookmarks we reviewed some months ago here, has just been updated to the 1.3 version, and it’s a huge update. This updated introduces support for Pinboard.in, the popular minimal alternative to Delicious.com, which was a long-awaited feature, requested by thousands of users.

You can go download Delibar here, both in the free and Pro version.

Binary Hammer Announces Polyhedra XL for the iPad

We talked about Polyhedra for iPhone a few days ago here, and I’m still stuck into its addicting and fast gameplay. Today Binary Hammer has announced Polyhedra XL for the upcoming iPad, which should bring a lot of new features to an already great game.

From the official press release:

  • 4 new Zones: triangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, and diamonds. Each one with its own newly-composed soundtrack;
  • New gameplay features such as reverse- and zero gravity, and obstacles give the players a real challenge;

  • A new Level Editor allows the player to create their own levels and share them with friends;

  • Graphical enhancements like particles and colored gems are also planned.

Expect more updates and, hopefully, a preview soon.
