In the past three weeks we all agreed that Steve might have some big product announcements to make at today’s WWDC keynote, beside the new iPhone. MobileMe going free? Safari 5? A new Apple TV?

What about a Magic Trackpad? After all, we already have a Magic Mouse, right? And if you have a desktop Mac, it’s very likely that that’s the only way you can enjoy the greatness of multitouch technology. Still, using a Magic Mouse isn’t like using a multitouch-enabled trackpad. Engadget has received pictures of this new peripheral, which should be announced today and should carry the features of trackpads and Magic mice in a single surface.

When Federico reviewed Appsaurus 1.0, it came with a glowing review. Here you have a service that goes beyond the call of ‘Genius’ through its personal recommendation engine. Appsaurus has seen growth through it’s short lifespan in the App Store, adding features and learning how to make the best recommendations possible. Now, Appsaurus has gotten to be the app recommendation monster; In my eyes, being far more useful than Apple’s own service.

CNET is reporting this afternoon that the iPhone holds 28% of the market share, while Android only holds 9%. The iPhone is certainly a popular device, but didn’t earlier reports have Apple at around 21% with Android at 28%? What’s going on here? As it stands, Apple and Google are playing a very tough game of tug of war, and neither is backing down. Though with Android phones coming out every month, compared to yearly releases of the iPhone, will popularity or sheer production win out in the end?

Google project manager Shailesh Nalawadi confirmed that they are developing an iPhone version of Goggles, the mobile visual search tool Google launched in December 2009 for Android devices. The app should be coming “soon”.

The Safari browser on the iPad is okay, but it leaves so much to be desired on that big, beautiful screen. Markus Schmeiduch decided to mock up what Google Chrome might look like on the iPad, and does an amazing job of describing features, gestures, all while providing drool worthy photographs. If there was an iPad application to lust for, this particular iteration of Google Chrome would be it.
