Apple is looking for a better way to separate “regular” apps from games in the App Store. In fact, in a matter of a few months we might be looking at a brand new version of the App Store specifically meant for iOS games - a Game Store.

N.O.V.A. 2 Coming to the iPhone [Teaser]
N.O.V.A. by Gameloft is probably one of the most critically acclaimed and successful FPS games ever released in the App Store. Released in 2009 and eventually ported to the iPad (the developers even demoed the tablet version on stage when the iPad was announced), N.O.V.A. has managed to gain thousands of players and fans. It’s been a huge success for Gameloft.
Gameloft posted a teaser video of N.O.V.A. 2 for iPhone on Youtube a few minutes ago. It doesn’t show much, besides “Stay Tuned” and “We need you once more”. There are 3 seconds of actual in-game graphics in the video, and man it looks impressive. Check out the video and a screengrab below. We don’t usually cover games, but I’m excited about this one. Sonic 4: Finally Coming To The iPhone On October 7th
Back in June Sega announced that Sonic 4: Episode 1 was coming to the iPhone, and the guys over at TouchArcade even managed to get their hands on an early demo at the E3 2010. The game looked great, but it got delayed. Quite frankly, this is one of the few games I’m seriously looking forward to, so I was really disappointed when I read about the Sonic 4 delay.
Good new this morning, though: Sonic 4 for iPhone is official, it’s real - and it’s coming to the App Store on October 7th. Read more

eBoy FixPix: Now Universal with 50 New Levels
eBoy’s FixPix game used to be amongst my all-time favorite games for the iPhone. Now the app, still priced at $0.99, has gone universal and supports the iPad as well. Plus it’s got 50 brand new shiny levels. And a new icon. And increased difficulty.
Oh boy. This is awesome. Go guy the app right now. Read more

EpicWin: Now Epicer with Retina Graphics and More Loot
EpicWin is an interesting app for iPhone to get things done we reviewed a while ago which combines typical productivity features as a todo list with…RPG elements. As you get things done and check off items from your list your character moves on in a RPG-inspired map, collects loots and becomes an epic hero. It’s an original approach to mobile productivity you should definitely check out. Read more
The Secret of Monkey Island for iPad Available
This is one of the games I grew up with, one of those that deeply contributed to building my (geek) passion for retro-gaming. The Secret of Monkey Island, adventure game released by Lucasfilm Games in 1990, is now available as “Special Edition HD” on the iPad. It’s time to be a pirate, again. Aye. Read more
