Note & Share: A Note Taking App, With Twitter and Dropbox Support

There are so many note taking apps for iPhone and iPad out there in the App Store, I don’t want to even keep a list of them anymore. Since Dropbox announced the possibility for developers to plug into the system and people remembered that Evernote has always been a great solution to store notes, developers rushed to release both great and terrible clients to create notes and save them to multiple online locations. Me? I’ve been using Simplenote all along and I’m not moving away from it, although PlainText makes a great note taking application with excellent Dropbox support.

Whether you’re a blogger or you just want to jot down some song lyrics or the next recipe you want to try to impress your husband, everyone loves taking notes on the iPhone. Just as everyone also loves sharing content from iOS devices, whether it’s a Twitpic or a tweet from Twitterrific. So why not merge the two and create a note sharing application? Is it a terrible idea as you would think?

Note & Share allows you to do just that: enter a quick note and share it. The supported services are: Dropbox, Evernote, Twitter, Plurk, email and ATOK Pad. You can also install a Safari bookmarklet to enter information into the app directly from the web browser. While the app isn’t great as a client for any of the services listed above, it surely provides a quick and useful way to enter small bits of information into Dropbox or your Evernote accounts. I don’t know why you would want to use Note & Share to send tweets, even though it really is fast at posting status updates. Of course, notes can be saved locally and exported later.

Note & Share is no Elements, Simplenote or PlainText and I don’t see myself using it on a regular basis, but if you’re looking for a way to drop text across multiple services (it’s even got Markdown support), this might be the perfect app for you. $1.99 in the App Store, iPad is supported as well.
