Multifl0w 1.2.1 Brings Possibility To Close Apps

Multifl0w, the excellent app that lets you switch between backgrounded apps on your iPhone, has just been updated to 1.2.1 version which adds a much requested feature: the possibility to close a running application from the multifl0w interface itself.

Nottingham: Notepad and Simplenote Client for Mac OS X

You’d probably already know how much Simplenote is amazing. It’s a little iPhone note taking application that sync every note over the cloud, allowing you access the notes you took from your mobile device on your desktop. It’s very cool. But even better, the developers launched an API service that let other developers create application that integrate with Simplenote.

I reviewed JustNotes a while ago, a beta application for Mac which perfectly sync with the Simplenote cloud. Today, I’ve just discovered another app, Notthingam and guess what, it’s a little gem.

Service to Send Any Link to Instapaper

Link

“Since getting Instapaper Pro for my iPod, I’ve been loving the ability to add links to my instapaper just by tapping on them, rather than (on my laptop) having to follow a link to its webpage, wait for it to load, and then hit the bookmarklet to send it to IP. So I made a service to duplicate that functionality on my Macbook. Once installed, you can select any URL in any application, and any link in Safari and send it to Instapaper in the background. You’ll get notified via Growl or the OS.”

This is just great.

Gmail Studio: Yet Another Mail Notifier

If you are a Gmail user and you have a Mac, you probably already know how many Gmail notifier applications are available. I don’t even know, maybe more than 20? Not to talk about custom solutions made of Applescript and Automator workflows.

I’m personally a huge fan of Notify from Vibealicious, which provides an easy way to access Gmail from the menubar with a stylish, elegant interface. Moreover, the upcoming 2.0 version will simply rock, trust me. Anyway, I’ve just discovered another Gmail notifier, which sits in the menubar and lets you check your unread messages from your Mac desktop: Gmail Studio.

Apple, Can You Do for Video What You Did for Music?

Link

“Now would be a really good time for Apple to rethink its video content strategy and make changes that will hold what I’m unaffectionately calling NBComcast at bay. It’s time for Apple to leverage its strengths by offering something like “Complete My Album” or “Upgrade to iTunes Plus” for movies, TV shows and music videos. Such iTunes features could change how people electronically rent or buy video content.”

I don’t think Apple will ever do the same things Youtube and Hulu already do. I mean, Cupertino never does the same things as others. They came out with a full featured online music store when online music stores didn’t exist.

They won’t just copy Hulu or offer the same stuff you can find (for free) on Youtube. If they have plans for something video related, it will sure be part of the Tablet project.

The Ultimate Roundup of 85 Mac Apps for Web Designers and Developers

Turns out many web designers and developers are switching to Mac OS X and guess what, I couldn’t agree more. If you want to do some serious work guys, I think Mac is the best option available. But anyway, the “switching process” can be really hard: especially if you come from years of Windows usage finding the best applications could be a big problem.

That’s why I decided to collect the best applications for web designers and developer using a Mac. But please notice that this roundup doesn’t cover every application out there, I’ve only picked up the best apps (free and paid) I know. If you have more suggestions, I’d love to hear about it in the comments section below.

Enjoy!
