Color us red – Federico and I were never Fever users until recently. Supposedly we had been missing out on one of the world’s greatest RSS applications, and sequentially we were told to, “Get out.” So both of us bit the bullet a couple weeks ago and dropped the $30 from our paychecks just to see what all of the hype is about. And after a bit of monkeying around with Nearly Free Speech, both of us now have relatively cheap server space to host it all. As a result, we have a review.

Augmented Reality by Junaio for Android and iPhone can Animate Objects
Bringing in big possibilities for augmented reality, Junaio’s application allows others to ‘glue’ in their own experience. Potentionally, people will develop some interesting things - such as the ability to animate static, real life objects into 3D on your iPhone.
The iPhone 4 Gets a Ridiculous (Yet Cool!) DSLR Upgrade
The iPhone 4 has a pretty great camera as it is, but how can you make even better? Outfit it with a full-size SLR lens.
Can Apple fit a 5MP Camera into the iPod touch?
Just as I got all excited with the iPod touch rumors, iFixit via MacRumors tears down my initial excitement with why the iPod touch could have FaceTime sans a snap & shoot camera. We know that with the iPod nano, video sensors can be significantly smaller than what’s used to snap photographs. So while Apple could implement a bunch of movie features, they’d be hard pressed to install a snapshot camera unless the design of the iPod touch changes dramatically (it basically has to get a little fatter). But sometimes you have to move a little backwards to move really far forwards – I really want to see the iPod touch become my next point-and-shoot camera. Kyle Wiens basically told me I’m dreaming.
App Store Updates: Fring, Nimbuzz, Hipstamatic, Mover+
Lots of updates in iTunes these days: and it’s no surprise, considering that both iOS 4 and iPhone 4 are now out and loved by customers.
iPhone 4: USB Vs. Outlet Charging
We know that plugging the iPhone 4 via USB takes longer to charge it than a standard wall charger, What you might not know are the exact numbers of this comparison, so take a look at When Will Apple’s post about it.
iPhone 4 Drop Test with Bumper
iFixyouri is doing it again. They once performed a drop test of an iPhone 4, and it took 3 drops to break the front glass. But what about Bumpers? They should offer protection, right?
Well, maybe so. But check out the video after the break, and pray that you’ll never drop your new toy. [via iFixyouri]
Fortune: Steve Jobs Is The “Smartest CEO”
Jessi Hempel over at Fortune Magazine is praising Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs this morning: he’s the smartest CEO in tech.
“iTunes reinvented music. Pixar, now part of Disney, elevated animated films. The iPhone changed telecom. And the new iPad has other computer makers scrambling to respond. Rocking one industry could be luck, but upending four? That’s smart.
He is a visionary, a micromanager, and a showman who creates such anticipation around new products that their releases are veritable holidays. And Jobs is a pop culture icon like no other business executive.”
And as Steve would say, you haven’t seen anything yet.
New 3x3 cm Apple Touchscreen Spotted in the Wild?
Apple.pro posted some pictures of a new Apple-branded touchscreen, 3x3 cm in size, which - of course - they don’t know what it could belong to. As MacRumors notices, the site has been a reliable source of early Apple parts in the past - such as the Macbook enclosures and iPhone 4 parts.
What could this ever be? Some kind of new iPod nano? The much rumored iWatch? A simple demo unit for Steve Job’s touch-sensitive microwave oven? We’ll see.
