Will the Next Apple Remote Deliver Multi-Touch?

Mac Predictions asks, “If there was a new Apple TV, would there be a new remote?” Their answer is yes, and that the new remote might utilize multi-touch technologies that would make it the perfect magic wand for your home entertainment system.

Apple recently updated their Apple Remote to a slim, aluminum model that’s pretty good at replacing the older, plastic model. But then again, as quickly as Apple updated their USB keyboard to a thinner model, they quickly made it secondary as they began utilizing bluetooth technologies. I’ll be interested to see if we could see a Magic ‘Mote not too dissimilar from the Magic Mouse, and whether it would be great for typing out virtual keys, simulating a gamepad, or navigating content with. Anything that replaces are current notion of remote controls would be fantastic.
