Goalbook, A Place to Jot your Goals. Review & Giveaway!

Boy, I sure am a dreamer. While I probably won’t live on that billion dollar yacht afloat over a man made martini ocean smack dab in the middle of Russia, there’s always the chance right? Probably not, but I might be able to sing in my own local band one day or form an ultra elite team of hackers that protect the world from evil doers like Federico. So for those rather minute goals (and perhaps even bigger ones), I can store my dreams and aspirations in the eye-popping iPhone and iPod touch application, Goalbook.

If your a fan of applications that burst with beautiful pixels, I would not stop reading right now. Goalbook is floored with an incredible interface that’s shines of Apple’s realism goals, and it’s textured interface (no matter how silly that sounds) is fun to touch. The designer did a good job of replacing defacto navigation buttons with tabs and other icons that still relay the appropriate message to users. As far as metaphorical actions go, it’s another Grades.

Guys, let’s quit drooling over the pretty and get to the nitty gritty. Goalbook opens to the cover, where you can add your own little note - perhaps your name - much like a moleskin. I thought this was a nice touch. I had a brief, “Oh that’s cool!” moment before delving into the rest of the app.

You’ll probably want to start adding goals, and the Goals page let’s you do just that. Tapping the sticky note will bring an editing interface into view where you can jot down what you’re thinking. You also have the option to make your goal go global!

Tapping on a goal will bring up an editing menu where you can mark it completed, edit your goal, tweet your goal , add pictures, and pinpoint where you’d like to either accomplish your goal or where you thought of it on Google maps.

Pictures and the Map feature have greater use outside of Goals. In the Picture tab of the app, you can browse through all of your goal related pictures if you wish, while in the Map section, you can pinpoint where goals are taking place.

The Global Goals allows you to search through the newest and most popular goals, and while it’s a little silly (perhaps pointless), it gives you some insight into what other goals people are reaching for.

Overall, Goalbook is gorgeous application that offers simple functionality for keeping your dreams in check. We can’t let such pretty pixels walk away, so we’re giving away one of ten copies. Check out the rules below for more information. In the meantime, check out it on the App Store for only $1.99.

Giveaway

Well hey there believer! Do think you got a chance to win one of ten copies? Simply leave a comment below describing what one of your biggest goals currently is and why it’s important to you in a couple sentences. The contest ends Monday, April 26th. Good luck!
