Seriously, I had to close the Youtube page after the 5th time to stop laughing. A masterpiece.

Some rather delicious folks in Italy seem to have set up a bodega of their own. Appleecious’ own Bundleecious is here for seven days to fill our pockets with - you guessed it - more Mac software. For only $9.99 (a great deal), you can get six sweet Mac applications to add to your collection. Ten dollars for me is what it costs for a lunch outside campus, so I think I’ll be bringing some PB&J tomorrow to enjoy my new shwag.
As a newbie in the world of journalism and blogging, I’m thankful to not only live in a world where we have the freedom to create amazing content (on incredible pieces of technology), but to share it and inspire people. Hacks/Hackers has a really cool website dedicated to hacks (the people who make and share content) and hackers (the folks who make the hacks’ job possible). It’s inspiring to see people come together to share stories, develop new media, and spread the love. I encourage you to get involved with the Hacks/Hackers community if you’re all about writing and tech, plus there’s an upcoming event related directly to our newborn iPads.
Red Sweater has finally released the long awaited 3.0 update for its award winning blog application for Mac OS X MarsEdit, which adds a lot of features and improvement to an already excellent app to blog directly from your Mac desktop.
The new features include a new syntax highlighter for HTML editing, a media browser with support for iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom, support for WordPress’ pages and custom fields and a full featured WYSIWYG editor. You can read the 3.0 release notes here.
Mars Edit 3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.6 and it’s available at $39.95. A 30 day free trial is available as well. Check out the screenshots after the break, and go download the app. A great update.
Two weeks after Apple has been granted a patent for the iPhone and iPod Touch design, now it’s time for the iPhone 3GS and 3G form factor. Filed in 2008, the patent lists Jobs and Ive in the inventors of the design.

Amazon, Google Shopper, I’m talkin’ to you. You guys have been a serious letdown to my iPad wantingness. Every time I try to find a stupid case for my beloved device, you shoot me down with silly rubber skins and diamond encrusted leather chinese imports. I will have it no more! Thanks to iPad Case Finder, I’ll no longer be needing your services.
The New York Time reports that the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission are “locked in negotiations over which of the watchdogs will begin an antitrust inquiry into Apple’s new policy of requiring software developers who devise applications for devices such as the iPhone and iPad to use only Apple’s programming tools.”
Section 3.3.1 of Apple’s SDK for App Store app is the one that banned third party development tools, thus excluding tools like Flash Catalytist from being used by devs to create their applications.
Also:
“An inquiry doesn’t necessarily mean action will be taken against Apple, which argues the rule is in place to ensure the quality of the apps it sells to customers. Typically, regulators initiate inquiries to determine whether a full-fledged investigation ought to be launched. If the inquiry escalates to an investigation, the agency handling the matter would issue Apple a subpoena seeking information about the policy.”
We’ll keep you posted about it, but I have the feeling that Apple has the right to do what it wants with the App Store, and that the FTC can’t do anything about it.

What a week for file transfer apps for Mac OS X. Panic has released the long awaited Transmit 4 this week (be sure to read our review here if you missed it) and now Binary Night has finally put the first official public beta of Forklift 2 online, you can go download it here.
Forklift 2 features a completely rewritten and 64-bit compatible engine, which according to the developers should make this new version 3x - 33x faster than any other app on the market. We’ll let you know about that after our tests during this weekend. Also, the 2.0 update brings new features like Workspaces and Synclets, Stacks, Unarchiver framework and many other stuff. Stay tuned for a complete review next week.
In the meantime, go download the beta and check out two screenshots after the break.
It seems like John Gruber was right once again, this time about video codes and patents. After reading Steve Jobs’ “Thoughts on Flash” post yesterday, Apple fan Free Software activist Hugo Roy decided to write an open letter to Steve Jobs about the statements he made in regards of openness and web standards. Of course Steve replied.
Check out the full conversation after the break.
