Lots of updates in iTunes these days: and it’s no surprise, considering that both iOS 4 and iPhone 4 are now out and loved by customers.

Fortune: Steve Jobs Is The “Smartest CEO”
Jessi Hempel over at Fortune Magazine is praising Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs this morning: he’s the smartest CEO in tech.
“iTunes reinvented music. Pixar, now part of Disney, elevated animated films. The iPhone changed telecom. And the new iPad has other computer makers scrambling to respond. Rocking one industry could be luck, but upending four? That’s smart.
He is a visionary, a micromanager, and a showman who creates such anticipation around new products that their releases are veritable holidays. And Jobs is a pop culture icon like no other business executive.”
And as Steve would say, you haven’t seen anything yet.
New 3x3 cm Apple Touchscreen Spotted in the Wild?
Apple.pro posted some pictures of a new Apple-branded touchscreen, 3x3 cm in size, which - of course - they don’t know what it could belong to. As MacRumors notices, the site has been a reliable source of early Apple parts in the past - such as the Macbook enclosures and iPhone 4 parts.
What could this ever be? Some kind of new iPod nano? The much rumored iWatch? A simple demo unit for Steve Job’s touch-sensitive microwave oven? We’ll see.

iOS Developer Shares iAds Revenue Earnings, All Developers Rejoice
How much did one developer make during the first day of iAds implementation in his app? Fourteen hundred dollars on a eCPM of $150. That’s actually quite a bit for a single day, and the numbers are interesting when compared to Ad-Mob.
Does the New iPod touch Have a Front Facing Camera?
9 to 5 Mac is hitting all the high points this morning. Shortly after reporting the iPod touch rumor, a reader sent in what might be the next iPod touch LCD assembly. It looks like it’s going to get a front facing camera – this means you’re probably going to have FaceTime available and a rear facing camera to go with it.
Worse Battery Performance on iOS 4? Steve Says “Nope”
Many users have reported decreased battery life problems on devices running iOS 4. I haven’t experienced the issue myself, but I surely can’t speak on everyone’s behalf. Anyway, Emails from Steve Jobs reader Jarle sent an email to the chief asking about the problem, and he got a nice “nope” as response.

Rumor: Next-gen iPod touch to get iPhone 4 Features
Yes it’s just a rumor, but being stuck on a Verizon contract for the next two years I’m incredibly excited about this (and I’m placing bets that it will happen). The iPod touch you know and love is touted to get a major overhaul according to John Lewis from the Electricpig. He’s overheard some industry chatter that the iPod touch is going to get a 5MP camera, HD video, and…. FaceTime. Of course it’ll have the gyroscope as well, and probably that A4 processor. It might even be faster than the iPhone 4 as it’ll be touted for gaming.
Now if your jaw didn’t drop, there’s one more possibility that 9 to 5 Mac considers: 3G. If the iPod touch could have a 3G plan like the iPad, then that pretty settles it for me (though in all honesty it probably won’t happen). Besides, I’m still on the 1st Gen iPod touch (which is stuck at the 3.1.3 firmware, so Apple has pretty much dropped support for it), so you know I’m due for the latest and greatest non-phone pocket internet, fitness, gaming, and music device.
If it can be my camera and camcorder too, I’d be the happiest college kid ever until I can get my hands on the real deal. And Apple did say they were planning on some new camera devices this year – we’ve only got a few more months to wait folks until the required iPod unveilings.
Let us know what you’d like to see in a new iPod touch in the comments below!
