Snappy and SnapTap: Two Great Apps to Improve Your iPhone Camera

I’ve told you last week how much I love the Cydia Store: it’s a great place to discover and download apps Apple will never approve in the AppStore. You know, SDK violations. And I mean applications like Orbit, Overboard and Multifl0w, biteSms, the reasons why many people decide to jailbreak their phones.

Today I’d like to talk about two new apps from the Cydia Store which will dramatically improve the way you use the iPhone camera.

App Rejections

Link

“There are now approximately 100,000 iPhone applications available on the App Store. Apple has a secret, undocumented, unquestionable, semi-random process for deciding which applications to “allow” onto the deck.

This site aims to document and share all known examples of what is actually rejected”

Great website about a very common problem.

Idea Organizer Updated to 1.1

Idea Organizer, that cool notes / pictures / voice memos organizer for iPhone I reviewed a few weeks ago, has just been updated to 1.1. The latest version brings some cool refinements and improvements:

  • Text notes now support hyperlinks and phone numbers detections;
  • Unlimited recording time;

  • Landscape keyboard;

  • Automatically save ideas when the app is interrupted.

At $1.99, you should go download Idea Organizer now.

That’s Why Cydia Store Is Great: Multifl0w and Overboard

Though the App Store was a revolution for Apple, and besides the fact that everybody uses the App Store, there are many apps which Apple will never approve. You know, SDK. Backgrounder, BiteSMS, Twidget,Winterboard: the best hacks for your iPhone can only be installed with Cydia, the amazing “alternative App Store” from Saurik. Obviously, you’ll have to jailbreak to install and use Cydia.

But anyway, if you already have a jailbroken phone, you should know that Saurik launched a few months ago the Cydia Store, a real store within Cydia where you can purchase paid apps. Today, I’d like to talk about two new apps from the Cydia Store, Overboard and Multifl0w.

Reportage: Elite Tweets On Your iPhone

I really don’t know how many Twitter clients for iPhone are available in the AppStore. 2000? 3000? Most of them are unusable apps, Twitter.com ripoffs sold as native apps or even ugly copies of other applications. Then there’s the elite, the “Upper East Side” of Twitter clients: you can see Tweetie, Twitterrific, Twittelator, Birdbrain and Twitbit walking there. They’re feature rich apps, with awesome interfaces and great ideas.

Now, developing an elitè Twitter app for iPhone nowadays is hard: I mean, you have to face Loren Brichter, and this is not exactly what people call “an easy task”. But a few developers understood that the big deal is not goin’ against Tweetie: it’s developing an application users would use together with Tweetie. Something different, yet usable and sexy.

Meet Reportage.

Reeder, The New Best RSS Reader for iPhone

I tried many RSS readers for iPhone, and by “many” I mean more than 20. The problem is, there are thousands of RSS readers out in the AppStore and as you can guess, it’s pretty difficult to discover good apps when there are 3.000 apps in that Category. But anyway, I tried many and in the end the best were the most popular: Byline, NetNewsWire, Newsstand.

Now, among these three ones my final choice until a month ago was Newsstand: features rich, great interface, stable and fast. But you know, things change fast.

Step down from the throne Newsstand, we have a new king.
