Tweet What You’re Listening To With PodTweet

While it’s true that I daily discover new stuff like Mac and iPhone apps with Twitter, I can’t say the same for new music. If I want to listen to new bands or interesting albums I still have to read dozens of music blogs and magazines, because people don’t seem to share their music discoveries on Twitter. And that’s pretty weird actually, ‘cause we share almost everything that happens to us on Twitter. God knows. Anyway, if you have an iPhone / iPod Touch and you use it to both tweet and listen to your music - have you ever thought of combining these two things into one?

Here comes PodTweet.

Sneak Peek of Synotes, Syncode’s New Application

Seems like the Syncode guys are working really hard these days. After the release of Syncopy, the application that allows you to share your Mac clipboard on multiple Macs and iPhone which I reviewed here, they’ve just announced their new application called Synotes.

From the official page:

“Synotes is a simple yet powerful note taking and management solution for iPhone and iPod touch and the web. Synotes uniquely provides users with simple yet stylish user interface created to be unique yet intelligent.

Synotes consists of an iPhone application and a web application, both in sync through smart cloud technologies we call ‘Smart Sync’. Both applications feature beautiful interfaces that are sophisticated yet subtle, but also contain powerful features to create a user friendly experience.”

And here are two screenshots of the upcoming iPhone app (currently awaiting approval by Apple) and the web app I’m testing:

From what we can see now, the interface is cool and the iPhone application seems promising. The web app is smooth and powered by great animations.

I’ll be sure to check it out when it’s released.

Syncopy: Share Your Clipboard Across Different Macs, iPhones and Clouds.

Sometimes developing and releasing a new application it’s just about good timing. You can’t be sure if your app will succeed and become a blockbuster because you can’t tell if time will be your friend, or your opponent. Most of all, you don’t know if your enemies will get in your way with something similar to what you’re developing at the same time. So yeah, sometimes it’s just about timing. But sometimes - most of the times, actually - having a really good application ready to be launched is what really matters. Good applications always get noticed, someone once said. Maybe he was right, maybe he was just too optimistic.

But what happens in the middle? What if you just launched a good application but timing was not so good? Even worse, what if your app gets noticed by less people than you expected?

Hell, let me talk about Syncopy.

Snappy Gets the 2.0 Update

Snappy, the Cydia-only tweak I previously mentioned in this article, has just been updated to 2.0. This new version improves the overall stability of the app and adds many new features like:

  • Video Recording;
  • Default Video Recording on Tap;

  • MMS;

  • Geotagging;

Available at $1.99 via the BigBoss repository, I highly recommend this.

My Desk: Your Desktop, On Your iPhone. And There’s Coffee Too.

If you’ve been wondering why I chose to redesign MacStories a few months ago, that’s because I wanted my blog to look (of course) better  but most of all, I wanted it to look like my real desk. A pencil, papers all around, a mouse, some coffee. I should have added even more coffee maybe, but still. Anyway, I stumbled upon this little nice application called “My Desk”, which basically puts a virtual wooden desk on your iPhone, with the addition of some features like Twitter and to-do management. Is it really good?

Find out after the jump.

Create Custom Springboard Layouts with Iconoclasm

If there’s something great about jailbreak, that’s the possibility to completely theme and modify the original iPhone user interface. Thanks to that amazing tool called Winterboard, you can download and install custom themes on your phone, which will change everything from icons and statusbar color to the dialpad and settings page. Be sure to check out my roundup about 12 best Winterboard themes if you missed it. Anyway, today I’d like to talk about a nice tweak I’ve just purchased from the Cydia Store: it’s called Iconoclasm, and it lets you arrange your icons on the Springboard in a whole different way.
