You shouldn’t have to sacrifice the lack of a power outlet when you’re traveling, and I’m betting your iPhone’s GPS is quickly draining that once long-lasting battery. Whether it be for in-car navigation, the passenger playing a game, or those movie watching kids in the back seat, you’ll need a good plan in place to keep those iDevices juiced throughout your trip. A good ol’ fashioned car charger should do the trick.

T-Mobile & Orange iPad Price Drop Hints at New iPad Soon
Numbers are starting to point toward the arrival of Apple’s iPad 2 (and 3?). UK Carriers T-Mobile and Orange have dropped their iPad pricing, possibly making room for the iPad 2 arrival very soon, maybe in a matter of weeks.
When new versions of products are on their way, it’s very typical for retailers to drop pricing to clear out current stock. It’s not just a “sale” price either, but more significant. Now T-Mobile and Orange are both selling the iPad for £99 on their 24-month contracts. Previously, Orange was offering the iPad WiFi + 3G at £199.99 to existing customers and £229.99 for new customers - this price drop is offering a savings of at least £100 on each. T-Mobile, meanwhile, is only offering the discount to existing customers.
Last year Apple unveiled the game-changing iPad in late January with sales starting on April 3rd. Since we’re currently in-between those dates, and have yet to hear anything official from Apple, we could see the iPad 2 peek it’s beautiful head within the next few weeks. On the other hand, the reduced price could just be Orange and T-Mobile offering customers a bargain; but who wants to believe the later? Not us, that’s for sure.

iPad and iPhone Beats Kindle In The UK, But Not In The US
Market research firm Book Marketing Ltd has revealed to GigaOM that in the UK both the iPad and iPhone are beating the Kindle as an eBook reader most used by consumers based on data from last September. The story however is very different in the US however with the Kindle far ahead after stellar growth throughout 2010 as the graph below the break demonstrates.

MacStories Product Review: XtremeMac Play-Through Sleeve
“Protection Transparente.” Two words couldn’t more boldly describe the hybrid case + sleeve XtremeMac is hoping to find the niche market for. An iPad sleeve is an iPad companion for those who want the protection of case, but still appreciate the naked qualities of aluminum when in use. A middle ground was met somewhere as a plastic shield was added to reveal the iPad’s display, yet the full body coverage of neoprene padding couldn’t quite constitute a case. Today, we look at the weird offspring dubbed the Play-Through Sleeve.

Daily Notes for iPad Makes A Comeback with Tasks, Dropbox Support
Daily Notes was one of the first apps to adopt a custom interface on the iPad back in the days when iPad apps were a novelty. Reviewed by Cody Fink in May 2010 (a month after the release of the tablet, and the grand opening of the iPad App Store), the app sported an intriguing faux-leather UI that allowed you to organize and schedule your daily events and priorities as if you were using a real agenda. Cody wrote:
Daily Notes is a more traditional styled notebook with lots of calendars built in. Seriously, you cannot miss a date wherever you turn. Asides from what could be overdoing it, Daily Notes has a couple great features built in, but also shows some odd design decisions that need ironing out. Despite some minor gripes, this is probably one of the best looking notepad applications currently available on the iTunes App Store, offering a fair level of organization, note tracking, privacy, and customization.
After a few months of silence, the app is making a comeback today into the App Store with a brand new version 4.0 that comes with several new features like backup through Dropbox and TextExpander integration. Together with that (and I’m sure being able to create daily notes through TextExpander snippets will be appreciated by many) the app can now organize tasks into a dedicated tab and has full multitasking support. But there’s more. You can switch between 30 different themes and 80 fonts, browse fullscreen photo attachments and insert multiple notes per day.
Daily Notes is chock-full of features, but I wish the interface was a little more streamlined. Admittedly, some users might find sections and calendar views confusing at first – thus the implementation of a tutorial when you first launch the app. Still, this is a truly complete app that I hope will get support for more online services in the future. Go check it out here.
