Three days ago we reported that someone was working on a porting of Flash for Android for iPad, called “Frash”. Now, Engadget has the download link to the first version of Frash (0.01) which allows you to play games and other Flash content on your jailbroken iPad, but doesn’t have video playback support yet. It’s coming in a future release.
Here’s how you can install Frash on your iPad.
The iPad comes with a great default browser, built on top of another great technology called Webkit. Safari for iPad makes browsing from a tablet feel good, and I haven’t find a single alternative in the App Store worth replacing Apple’s default app.
If there’s a webapp that showcases the great capabilities of Safari for iPad, that’s PadEdit.
We all know that the iPad is slowly becoming an essential part of our lives. We check emails with it, write, read, browse the web, organize photos and videos. We do things with it, not only geek stuff. Malaysia Airlines seems to think that the iPad is the must-have device for customers, too.
We’ve been reviewing many iPad applications meant for reading online content. The Early Edition, My Newspaper, Pulse, Reeder: each one of them has its pros and cons, and I’ve found my ideal workflow by combining Reeder with Ashes - we’ll review the second one later this week.
Today I’m taking a look at another new app built to easily access article with an interesting interface and concept: Blogshelf.
Despite the iPhone 4 features a gorgeous Retina Display and all new industrial design, people keep on wanting to buy iPads. They don’t care for a major refresh of the device coming next year, they want one - and they want it now.
Remember the most impressive Brushes speed painting you’ve ever seen? Well, this one is pretty good too. Kyle Lambert, the author, says:

So, reading on the iPad. The iPad is the perfect device to read, and we said it many times before. You’ve probably grown tired of hearing this story. The thing is, the device is so young and the opportunities in the App Store so big we can’t help but telling this story every time a new app comes out. And if the app is about catching up with news posted on your favorite blogs, I think you can understand us.
My Newspaper offers a new, fresh take on Google Reader, tailored to users who don’t need to refresh G. Reader every 2 minutes but want to sit down and enjoy some good content instead.
The iPad introduced support for document sync across your computer and apps on the device using iTunes as a platform to communicate between databases (Pages, Numbers, GoodReader etc.) and the files on your computer. The process is slow and very un-Apple in my opinion, considering that you have to plug in the device, fire up iTunes (which is slow), wait for an initial sync, move to the Apps tab, choose the app, drag & drop and then sync again.
Also, there’s no sync between documents: iTunes doesn’t automatically replace files on your Mac with the you edited on your iPad, it just copies them. You can’t carry along the same document and hope for some kind of sync, though that would be great and it’s certainly coming to MobileMe or iWork.com sometimes in the future.
So, we’re stuck with drag & drop in iTunes. Fortunately for us, there are some 3rd party applications that are coming out and promise to change the way you move documents between your desktop and tablet (and iPhone, too) and today I’m taking a look at one of them, PadSync.
Answer: no, but the result is interesting. Basically, the guys over at UseIt wanted to see if tablets really come with faster reading speeds than printed books.
