MacStories Giveaway: Win A Copy Of The Incident

The Incident is an insanely awesome game from Big Bucket Software which we’ve covered a few times in the past. Addictive gameplay, pixels all over the place, a great 8-bit soundtrack composed by Cabel Sasser. With the latest 1.2 update, the developers introduced an “endless mode”, bug fixes and the possibility to control the game on your iPad directly from your iPhone.

The Incident is a great game. Here’s your chance to win a copy. Read more

Retinasizer Forces iPhone Games To Render in Retina Graphics

It sucks when you buy a $4.99 (or even more) game for your iPhone and you find out that the game doesn’t support the Retina Display. How is that even possible, 5 months after the release of the iPhone 4? I don’t know, but we might have a solution here: Retinasizer, a free tweak available in Cydia, can force games to run natively with high-resolution graphics on the Retina Display. Read more

The Incident: Whatʼs New In 1.2

The Incident (our previous review) is undoubtedly one of the funnest and most addicting games on the App Store today. The retro styled smash hit became immediately popular with everybody, young and old. This past couple of weeks Iʼve had the pleasure of testing out the newest update to The Incident.

One of the biggest complaints with the original version was the lack of an endless mode. Well, rest assured your wishes were heard and thereʼs a new mode called “Endless Nightfall.” Complete with awesome new music from Cabel Sasser himself, Endless nightfall has some awesome additions to an already awesome game.

My Very First App - Review & Giveaway

This review is a little different than most reviews on MacStories, it’s targeted towards children. I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter, so this app was an easy one for me to grab onto. For what it’s worth, I have always been very protective of my iPhone, afraid it could get scratched or dropped but I couldn’t help but to break my old ways and let my kids start playing with it. Is Apple Working On A Game Store?

Apple is looking for a better way to separate “regular” apps from games in the App Store. In fact, in a matter of a few months we might be looking at a brand new version of the App Store specifically meant for iOS games - a Game Store.

N.O.V.A. 2 Coming to the iPhone [Teaser]

N.O.V.A. by Gameloft is probably one of the most critically acclaimed and successful FPS games ever released in the App Store. Released in 2009 and eventually ported to the iPad (the developers even demoed the tablet version on stage when the iPad was announced), N.O.V.A. has managed to gain thousands of players and fans. It’s been a huge success for Gameloft.

Gameloft posted a teaser video of N.O.V.A. 2 for iPhone on Youtube a few minutes ago. It doesn’t show much, besides “Stay Tuned” and “We need you once more”. There are 3 seconds of actual in-game graphics in the video, and man it looks impressive. Check out the video and a screengrab below. We don’t usually cover games, but I’m excited about this one. Sonic 4: Finally Coming To The iPhone On October 7th

Back in June Sega announced that Sonic 4: Episode 1 was coming to the iPhone, and the guys over at TouchArcade even managed to get their hands on an early demo at the E3 2010. The game looked great, but it got delayed. Quite frankly, this is one of the few games I’m seriously looking forward to, so I was really disappointed when I read about the Sonic 4 delay.

Good new this morning, though: Sonic 4 for iPhone is official, it’s real - and it’s coming to the App Store on October 7th. Read more
