This week, you got a chance to read up on the company and the applications that make Fuel Collective a pleasure to do business with if you have a Mac. They produce a video converter called Permute, and tools for developers and designers such as Snippet, Swatch, and PunchClock. On top of all that, they have a great Library manager called Contents which we reviewed yesterday. But now it’s the end of the week, and we’ve run out of applications to review. Some people just don’t get it.
Gina Trapani (founding editor of Lifehacker) has posted a new entry on Fastcompany’ blog called “Why You Shouldn’t Buy an iPad (Yet)”, giving us some arguable points about why we should skip the current iPad generation (let’s simply call it iPad 1st gen) and wait for better, less buggy, cheaper device next year.
I’ve never understood this way of thinking, and never will.
Dragon Dictation, the popular (and great) text to speech utility for iPhone, has just been updated to an iPad compatible (universal) version. The iPad version obviously takes advantage of the new screen, but it’s basically a raw port of the iPhone one. Available for free here, check out the screenshots after the break.

As if all the iPad apps weren’t enough today, Apple has just launched a new section in the App Store called “App of the Week”. Nice. I guess an app that gets featured there would benefit of a terrific visibility.
Now, about the organization of iPhone and iPad apps…
With this extension, you can access the App Store directly within Google Chrome. Interesting.
