Two days ago I tried to use my girlfriend’s iPhone 3GS running iPhone OS 3.1.3 and I couldn’t believe it was the same device - running the same operating system - I had two weeks ago. iOS 4 is a huge step forward for Apple (iAds), developers (new APIs) and users (multitasking, folders). Now that we have iOS 4, it’s hard to look back and be unbiased about iPhone OS 3.
There’s something that deeply concerns me though, and it’s about the way people think about folders.
The Pixelmator team has announced that they’ll release a major update for their image editing application on July 13. The update will bring full 64-bit support, watermarking options to integrate with Automator and Facebook exporting features to share photos with your friends without leaving the app.
I’m reading many comments these days of people frustrated because Apple hasn’t announced further plans for iOS 4 on the iPad. We know it’s going to ship this fall, but we don’t know anything more than that. So people seem to think that Apple doesn’t care about the iPad, now that the iPhone 4 is available and they’re having some hard times convincing customers that it works just fine and all the issues will be fixed with a software update.
I’ll tell you what, you’re wrong.
How much did one developer make during the first day of iAds implementation in his app? Fourteen hundred dollars on a eCPM of $150. That’s actually quite a bit for a single day, and the numbers are interesting when compared to Ad-Mob.

9 to 5 Mac is hitting all the high points this morning. Shortly after reporting the iPod touch rumor, a reader sent in what might be the next iPod touch LCD assembly. It looks like it’s going to get a front facing camera – this means you’re probably going to have FaceTime available and a rear facing camera to go with it.
Many users have reported decreased battery life problems on devices running iOS 4. I haven’t experienced the issue myself, but I surely can’t speak on everyone’s behalf. Anyway, Emails from Steve Jobs reader Jarle sent an email to the chief asking about the problem, and he got a nice “nope” as response.
Spanish carrier Movistar sent a tweet a few hours ago, saying that the iPhone 4 should be available in Spain on July 28th.

Please remember that Spain is among those other countries that should get the iPhone by July, but Apple hasn’t officially confirmed the release date yet. Could this be it? We hope so.
