Apple Updates Mobile iDisk App with iPad and iOS 4 Support

If you’re a MobileMe user, then you might be happy to know this: Apple has just updated the iDisk app to include native support for the iPad and iOS 4’s multitasking.

You can now quickly switch from iDisk to another app, go back and find the app exactly where you left off. You can also stream audio in the background (useful if you store your music library in the cloud)  and open files in other apps that support that type of document, such as iBooks. Also, there are some major stability improvements. The app is available here.

Big Government Spends on iPhone App Development

As BBC News reports that the UK is dropping a ton of cash on building iPhone applications, it raises the question of whether such spending is necessary. £10,000 - £40,000 (about $15,200 - $60,700 USD) is being set aside for various i-projects, including a DVLA Motoring Masterclass application that “would also work out fuel mileage, act as a hazard light and track RAC patrols.”
