Whilst in my $2 Staples stand dock thing, my iPad virtually does nothing as it recharges for the morning. Cup of coffee and keyboard in hand, I often pondered the ways it could make me more productive or more informed before its later afternoon usage. Enter Tweet Flow (tweet Flow? tweetFlow?), a pretty great iPad Twitter client that’s excellent for displaying recent tweets in big text.
PDF Reader for iPad is Almost Perfect
Finding a good PDF Reader has become somewhat of a chore. Well - not really. But there are certainly lots of solutions out there that make picking one difficult. After all, nobody wants to pay for five different PDF readers before finally finding the perfect one. So today I present to you my favorite so far, PDF Reader by Kdan Mobile Software.
Adobe Fails at Android Flash Demo
Oh Adobe you wonderful bastards you. There’s some aspects I really like about Adobe - I kinda do have a place in my heart for Adobe Air (with HTML/AJAX) if it’s done right. Photoshop is sweet despite numerous UI inconsistencies. But boy, they just can’t seem to deliver for mobile devices. Adobe, you can’t make a big fuss about the iPhone when you can’t even deliver for Android devices. Because here’s the thing: I don’t care how early/how late in development you are with getting Flash to work on Android - if you can’t present something that works, then don’t bitch.
Cloud Browse May Bring Flash, But I’d Stay Far Away
Are you just that desperate to get Flash on your iPhone? You may have stumbled across Cloud Browse, a utility that allows you to access the Internet through a remote computer. To me, that raises lots of red flags. Basically Cloud Browse creates a connection between you and a Firefox browser sitting on some computer in the middle of wonder-land. I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to login into my accounts on somebody else’s computers. Plus, it doesn’t even work that great. Talk about something that shouldn’t be allowed in the App Store.
“iTunes Live” - Now Trademarked
First it was iPhone icons. The we had the “made for” iPod, iPhone, and iPad insignias. Now, Apple has filed a trademark for “iTunes Live.” If you’ve been a fan of the “iTunes Sessions” and “Live from SoHo,” expect (or not necessarily) to see more concerts at big Apple retail store locations.

The Forklift 2.0 Public Beta Review
Servers are kind of like warehouses. It’s where you temporarily store product for later use. Simple concept right? With our warehouse metaphor intact, we have two products in the Mac world that want your undivided attention. First we have Transmit 4, an incredibly sexy can-do-it-all FTP client by Panic which in everyone’s eyes, is the current pinnacle of perfection. Depicted by a storage truck, Transmit promises to deliver your data.
But when a truck backs into the warehouse, its work is done. For it is the forklift that loads and unloads the truck’s contents. Forklift, currently in it’s first public beta as version 2.0, makes a strong statement. BinaryNights promises that no matter how strong the competition, they’ll always have the fastest speeds. So does that hold true? And how do Forklift’s features compare to Transmit’s? And ultimately, will this little workhorse outdo the truck that has captured the Mac world? Hold on to your trucker caps people - this is going to be fun.
Engadget Speculates on Verizon iPwn (iPhone)
Oh boy. These are always the rumors that set me off. Forget my rant against Flash, the issue about the Verizon iPhone is always a bothersome one. And it’s not because I care what networks the iPhone is on (I would prefer it was everywhere), but because people think the coming of the iPhone to Verizon is going to usher in a golden era of network usability - to which I disagree (if all the AT&T users jumped on Verizon, Verizon’s not going to fare any better). But that’s for another post. For now, we’ve got rumors. And those of you on Verizon who can take advantage of upgrades and all that fancy jazz, you might be happy to hear that the iPhone might be finally coming to Verizon in CDMA (and maybe) LTE fashion this summer. Maybe. Kinda.
