Why Jailbreak Makes The iPhone 4 A Better Device: My Setup

Two months ago I wrote that jailbreak on iOS 4 still had its importance, but when JailbreakMe came out earlier this month I was very disappointed that the iPhone 4 wasn’t really supported. Sure, I could jailbreak my iPhone and install Cydia - but what for? Tweaks and apps weren’t updated for the Retina Display and new device, there was the possbility to break FaceTime and MMS and, overall, it seemed like JailbreakMe for the iPhone 4 was released just for the sake of it.

Fast forward 20 days, and I can’t imagine having a un-jailbroken iPhone 4 anymore. What happened?

MacPilot 4, A Seriously Powerful Mac Utility

Koingo has been great to me as a software company. One of my favorite Mac utilities from them, AirRadar, is an essential tool I use when setting up wireless networks. Professionals might turn to the popular Adobe Air client Tweetdeck to keep track of trends and various search terms. Many of us would be lifeless without Tweetie, but before we finally sink our teeth into the latest MacHeist offering, I’m going to DestroyTwitter.

Still based on Mozilla’s engine though. An important update anyway, you might want to give it another spin. I did.

ActionMenu Extends Your iPhone Copy & Paste Menu

Before OS 3.0 we were unable to copy & paste stuff on our iPhones: sure, there were apps such as Clippy available in Cydia which allowed us to use some sort of copy and paste features, but it wasn’t polished, refined and stable like the solution Apple came out with. And it seems like after the release of iPhone OS 3.0 people stopped asking about new stuff, everyone seems to be satisfied now. Fortunately, there are many people who noticed that the “action menu” (the one you activate everytime you copy / paste / select some text) could be improved a lot.

Fortunately, there’s a guy like Ryan Petrich who developed an amazing tweak called Action Menu.
