You probably already know how many Twitter clients are available in the AppStore: a lot. Choosing a Twitter application is just your personal preference now, depending on the features you need and how much you’d like to pay to tweet from your iPhone. But you know, Twitter clients could be a lot better if only Apple removes all the SDK limitations developers have to fight with.
Fortunately, there’s Cydia, the amazing alternative store created by Saurik which is the main reason why people jailbreak their phones. I was browsing Cydia last week and I stumbled upon a great application, which has changed the way I read my timeline updates: Twidget.
I’ve told you last week how much I love the Cydia Store: it’s a great place to discover and download apps Apple will never approve in the AppStore. You know, SDK violations. And I mean applications like Orbit, Overboard and Multifl0w, biteSms, the reasons why many people decide to jailbreak their phones.
Today I’d like to talk about two new apps from the Cydia Store which will dramatically improve the way you use the iPhone camera.
Though the App Store was a revolution for Apple, and besides the fact that everybody uses the App Store, there are many apps which Apple will never approve. You know, SDK. Backgrounder, BiteSMS, Twidget,Winterboard: the best hacks for your iPhone can only be installed with Cydia, the amazing “alternative App Store” from Saurik. Obviously, you’ll have to jailbreak to install and use Cydia.
But anyway, if you already have a jailbroken phone, you should know that Saurik launched a few months ago the Cydia Store, a real store within Cydia where you can purchase paid apps. Today, I’d like to talk about two new apps from the Cydia Store, Overboard and Multifl0w.
Thanks to MacHeist, I had the chance to download and test Shovebox, a lightweight organizer for Mac OS X. Then, I found out that there was a Shovebox app for iPhone too, so I decided to give it a try. Expect a review soon.
Anyway, this is not a review of Shovebox mobile. In this tutorial I’ll show you how you can export items from Shovebox mobile and import them into Yojimbo on your Mac. As you can guess, Shovebox mobile + Yojimbo could become the ultimate data organizer setup: every data you shove on the go can be easily imported into Yojimbo on your desktop.
The process is a little bit complex and it’s based on an Automator workflow I created, but once you’ve set up everything it will take 2 seconds to export/import all the files.
Enjoy!
If there one thing I love about my Mac (beside the OS) that’s without doubt Exposè. It allows me to easily switch between all my open apps and, if combined with another great feature such as Spaces, it just becomes a killer app for your workflow.
Now, I always dreamt to have such a feature on my iPhone but - strangely - Apple never built it. And here comes Steve Troughton Smith with Orbit.
Today, with thousands of apps into the App Store, interface is everything. Every UI designer out there knows how much is important to have a good app design in order to stand out from the crowd.
In this roundup I’ve collected 70 of the best iPhone apps interfaces. If you know more, I’d love to hear about that in the comments.
Enjoy! ;)
The title may sounds very provocative, but that’s the truth: I’m in love with Tweetie 2. Well, pretty much everyone is at the moment. But instead of writing just another review, I decided to give you a list of 10 good reasons to buy Tweetie 2. And, even is the app is out since 2 days, what you should probably expect from “Tweetie 3”.
Enjoy ;)
