When Federico passed this application onto me, I was virtually told nothing about it. And without any precursor I sat looking at a rather drab icon on an iPad homescreen thinking, “This is going to be really lame.” Already I had judged a book by its cover, and that was a mistake. Terminology for the iPad is a dictionary, thesaurus, and all around word browser for the English language that’s become useful in my daily workflow.

Hulu + First Impressions and Tests
Ever since Hulu announced its plans for Hulu +, a premium subscription service that gives you access to full HD content and mobile apps, we all applied for an invite. I know you did, and I did too. I still haven’t got mine.
But, my good friend Matthew Rex was able to get in and he posted some screenshots and impressions about the overall service and video quality. He’s got some interesting findings to share, too.
iPad Sales to Dominate Notebook Market
With the iPad being one of the only viable tablets currently on the market for consumers, it’s no wonder that Apple will dominate 93% of the the tablet space by the end of this year. 9 to 5 Mac reports,
The Chinese-language Commercial Times tells us global shipments of tablet PCs in 2010 and 2011 are predicted to come in at 16.4 and 35 million units. That’s nice, but even better (for Apple) 93% and 75% of these tablet PC shipments will be accounted for by iPads. In fact, the iPad is going to grab 40 percent of global demand for notebooks.
Which is bad news for Microsoft and related companies such as Hewlett Packard, whose shipments fell 9 percent while Lenovo and Apple have seen increases in demand.

Wired Knew About the iPad…11 Years Ago
Ok, so the iPad was actually in the works before the iPhone. Then Steve decided to move the OS they created to the iPhone, and put the iPad on the Cupertino labs shelves. Now, Steve, please define “before”: because it seems like Wired magazine knew about the iPad in 1999.
Squeeze’s iPad Keyboard Solo [Video]
Last night UK band Squeeze appeared on Late Nigh with Jimmy Fallon and took an iPad with them. They played “Pulling Mussels From the Shell” and one of the band members used an iPad all along. Take a look at the solo during the second minute - the app is MooCowMusic’s Pianist Pro.
Check out the video after the break. [via 9to5mac]
Viewfinder for the iPad is a Minimalist Flickr Browser
I love browsing through Flickr. I don’t take a lot of photos myself (I’d like to someday), though I enjoy the various things creative individuals and photographers upload online. It’s usually the first destination I visit when I’m looking for a little creative spark, which is why Viewfinder for the iPad is perfect for a guy like me.

So the rumors were true this morning: Apple has just pushed iOS 4.0.1 only for iPhone. It includes various bug fixes and improvements, including the signal formula one.
What we didn’t know, though, is that 3.2.1 for iPad was about to be released: the newest update of iOS for iPad brings many fixes, including the Wifi connectivity, video playback and PDF ones.
News Kiosk Brings Yet More Newstands to the iPad - 10 Codes Up For Grabs
So you think we’re done reviewing apps to read news on the iPad. No, and we’ve got even more coming. Actually, I think news apps on the tablet are the new “Twitter clients for iPhone”. They’re everywhere. They’re good. Developers can’t stop releasing them.
Today we’re taking a look at a new app for iPad called News Kiosk which - you guess - allows you to read your favorite blogs’ news in an all-new fashion.
As usual, we’ve also got some codes to give away.
Boy Genius Claims that FaceTime is Coming to iPod and iPad
We pretty much figured that FaceTime would eventually end up on the iPod relatively soon, but we didn’t think we’d hear millings about the iPad just yet (considering it doesn’t have a front facing camera). Sure the iPad would make the perfect FaceTime device – but this leads us to ponder whether Apple will release an updated model this Fall.
Questions aside, Boy Genius Report does ask a valid question: how the heck can you call an iPod touch or iPad without a phone number? The answer lies in your Apple ID. Using your email address (which I do not like the idea of at all), people will be able to make FaceTime calls to your device. Kind of like how Textie on the iPhone and iPod touch works. Push Notifications will alert you to calls, and Boy Genius Report admits that there’d have to be some minor changes in iOS 4.x to make it happen. Chalk another one up on the rumor mill kids - this one is pretty good.
