Yes, indeed they kept up to the promise the made last week. As first reported by RazorianFly, many customers who bought a Bumper for the iPhone 4 are now receiving an email from Apple for a full and automatic refund. A simple Twitter search reveals that many users are getting these emails.
At this point, the order page to get a free Bumper on Apple.com should go live very soon.

Just got such an email as well. Bought on the Apple France online store.
It said that it’ll be automatically refunded to me within 3 to 5 business days.
