If you are a Firefox user and you usually have a large number of open tabs, it’s very likely that you would need to organize your sites in groups. There are a lot of addons that let you group / sort your tabs, but none of these really enable you to create “Workspaces”.

Let’s talk about TabGroups Manager.

Se siete utenti abituali di Firefox e vi ritrovate constantemente con un grande numero di schede aperte, è molto probabile che desideriate organizzare le vostre pagine aperte in gruppi.

Ci sono molte estensioni disponibili per il download che vi permettono di raggruppare le schede, ma nessuna permette veramente di creare dei Workspace.

Nessuna, tranne TabGroups Manager.

As I am writing this post, I have 16 open tabs. 7 of them belong to some Mac sites I’m subscribed, 5 to eBay, 3 to some Firefox tutorials and 1 to ReadWriteWeb. With Firefox default configuration, I would see them as simple horizontal view, but I installed Tree Style Tabs to have a vertical sidebar instead.

Still, I have a vertical list of unsorted web pages.

That’s where Tab Groups Manager really comes in handy: you can create as many “groups” or “workspaces” you want, drag them to change  their position, open new tabs inside them and even hybernate or bookmarking them as folders. Thanks to a “Restore Session Manager” you can even assign some sites to a workspace and forget about re-opening them in the future (just as I do for MacStories in Mac workspace)

Amazing, one of the best Firefox addons around.

Moreover, it is fully compatible with other famous tabs addons: I’ve tested it with Tree Style Tabs and Tab Sidebar and it works perfectly without any bug.

Mentre sto scrivendo questo post ho 16 tab aperte. 7 appertengono a siti di Mac che controllo abitualmente, 5 ad eBay, 3 ad alcuni tutorial per Firefox e una a ReadWriteWeb. Con una configurazione di default, vedrei tutte le schede tramite una semplice visualizzazione orizzontale, ma dal momento che ho instalalto Tree Style Tabs posso gestire le mie tabs come un elenco verticale.

Anche così, però, l’elenco verticale non mi permette di organizzare le schede.

Ed è proprio qui che interviene TabGroups Manager: potete creare quanti “gruppi” volete, trascinarli per cambiare la loro posizione, aprire nuove pagine all’interno di essi ed addirittura ibernarli o salvarli come “cartella di segnalibri”.

Inoltre, grazie ad una feature chiamata “Restore Session Manager” potete anche assegnare dei siti ad un workspace e dimenticarvi di riaprirli in futuri riavvii di Firefox (proprio come faccio io per MacStories nel workspace Mac)

Amazing, one of the best Firefox addons around. Fantastico, sicuramente una delle migliori estensioni in circolazione.

Infine, TabGroups si è dimostrata perfettamente compatibile con altri addons molto famosi: ho testato personalmente Tree Style Tabs e Tab Sidebar e gira tutto liscio senza neanche un crash.
