It uses the plug-in system for many services. For example, there's a plug in for bit.ly, Dropbox, Image Shack and many others. Also goes very well with Skitch's "drag & drop save" + Imageshack plugin. You might want to just try Dropzone (http://aptonic.com/) instead of either/both of them.

Let's say you want to embed an image in a forum and you put it on Cloud. The link it gives you is a valid link, you don't need the file extension shown.
