Rumors: 2011 to Bring CDMA iPhone, New Apple TV, Mini iPad

For the 2% of that actually enjoy a Verizon iPhone rumor, or the 1% who believe Apple would reveal a 7” iPad-mini, Digitimes Research claims they have the scoop on when Apple is planning to release these fabled gadgets as 2010 starts coming to a close for Apple product releases.

December will be the month for Apple, as it’s speculated that Pegatron Technology will begin mass producing CDMA enabled iPhones for Verizon Wireless and China Telecom. However, the Verizon iPhone may feature a different design with a metal backplate and an internal antenna. It’s expected that Verizon Wireless would announce the product at CES 2011, with initial sales beginning in January.

The new Apple TV is also rumored to start production in December, featuring an AMD Fusion based solution with no internal storage. The device is expected to have an interface similar to the iPhone for interacting with social networks, networked multimedia, and of course the App Store.

But let’s not get carried away with the 7” iPad featuring a 1024x768 display. If you thought a retina iPad was in the works - you’re probably right. Though, Apple’s not planning to upgrade their 9” tablet display: instead they’ll use the same display resolution in a smaller design, effectively continuing the company’s advance against the Amazon Kindle. Powered by a Cortex-A9 Processor with 512mb of RAM, perhaps those who thought the initial iPad was just too big and heavy may want to have a second look at the smaller design.

We not sure where Digitimes Research is gathering all these details, or even if they’re correct. I can believe the rumors on the Apple TV and the iPad, but a brand new iPhone on the Verizon network (with an announcement by Verizon and not Apple) raises a lot of questions. Can we expect a Verizon controlled iPhone?
