Steve was saying that their dispute isn't personal, "It's just business."

Any company has to place bets on the future; winning those bets is how they make profits and get ahead.

Steve bet on Multi-touch technologies on the iPhone three years ago. The bet was that the customers would like multi-touch and they did. The drawback is that Flash doesn't work on Multi-touch, because most Flash websites need a mouse rollover and multi-touch eliminates them.

Flash may be popular, but it is old hat and very problematic. Flash's best days are behind them; it is time to move on. This discussion is getting boring.

Let me just say, it looks very lame to blur out your own e-mail address, but to leave the address of the sender for everyone to see here.

I know that Steve's e-mail address is pretty much common knowledge today, but this is simply very, very impolite. You consider your (and everyone else's) right to have access, and be able to e-mail, to Steve Jobs, but you are making sure you don't get bothered by any messages?

As I said, it is pretty lame.

@Jim, Here's Jobs acting reasonable while the entire internet and press tries to paint this as something bigger. It's just Apple not wanting Flash on their mobile devices, nothing more.

Why can't more people realize that?

Seems to me what is sad about the question is the word 'hate'. Surely there is something more nuanced here. And to assume, in the question that it is either or hate this or hate that. Steve managed a grown up answer, that took the realm of the discussion out of absolute reptilian and into pragmatic thoughtfulness. That all said, I applaud the asking and giving us a look at the reply. Thanks.

I've got to say, doesn't anyone else think its highly unlikely that the CEO of Apple would have thousands of emails going to his iPhone???

There literally must be so much spam, fanboy and hate mail going to that account!!!

Whilst I don't doubt that he may peruse that mailbox occasionally, picking out the odd email to read and on even reply rarely, but I have visions of him doing this from an iMac in the office when he's bored, I just can't see him having anything but his private/business email accounts on his iPhone!

Thinking about this sparked another question in my head, just how many numerics fit in the "new email notification badge" anyway??
