There’s been a lot of buzz around Apple’s new products: as soon as the Apple Store went down today, rumors began spreading around the web about new iMacs, new MacBooks and a new Mighty Mouse.

Finally, we have the confirmation.

Magic Mouse

It’s called Magic Mouse. It’s the world’s first Multi-Touch mouse.”

The new, revamped Mighty Mouse it’s now called Magic Mouse (ok, it seems a toy’s name, but that’s it) and it’s a multi touch mouse. What? Yeah, you heard that right. Think of it as your standard trackpad..applied to a mouse.

Two fingers swiping, click everywhere, 360 degress movement, one finger scrolling.

It’s a revolution.

Price: $69

iMac

“Now with the Ultimate Display”

The new iMac now features a 21.5-inch or 27-inch LED backlit display with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. It has wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse standard. Last, you can also choose to have a quad core processor.

Gorgeous.

Price: Starting at $1199

MacBook

“The notebook you love”

The MacBook is now unibody, that’s the big news. Also features a LED backlit display and a glass multi touch trackpad.

Price: $999

Mac Mini

“Big on speed. Big on memory.”

The Mac mini just got a huge speed bump. The ram has gone up to 4GB and the processor up to 2.66GHZ.

Faster!

Price: Starting at $599

Thoughts

I feel very excited about these updates. While I don’t need a new MacBook or an iMac (but they’re surely better for the early adopters) the Magic Mouse is a real revolution.

Having the trackpad features into my mouse seems like a real innovation, speaking of productivity. But, I’m waiting to hear the opinion of designers / web designers about it, if they feel comfortable with it or not. The fact is, Apple has just reinvented the mouse today: my bluetooth, features-rich Targus suddenly seems old and “past”.

Anyway – as I said – I’d like to see the designers’ feedback about this new product.

That's what BIGIO said 10 months ago:

che dire…ottima la politica apple di abbassare i prezzi e offrire di più!
ora il mac mini che da sempre è il mac entry level ha un prezzo onesto per la dotazione offerta, quindi….che lo switch abbia inizio!!!
