Two great updates showed up in iTunes today: Spotify (UK store only) and Last.FM, both free, have been updated to include support for iOS 4 multitasking.
Spotify’s update brings a major new feature, the possibility to listen to music in the background, while streaming or stored in local cache. The app is available to Spotify Premium subscribers only and – trust me – it’s a great service. Try to create an account if you live in the US (Google that) or go subscribe right now if you live in one of the countries officially supported.
The Last.FM iPhone app comes with iOS multitasking support, too. You can now scrobble music in the background, while doing other things such as reading feeds or browsing Safari.
Finally, I’d say.

Spotify is coming to the US, but the record companies causes delays.
Also, it should be noted that Spotify is available in several countries in Europe, not only the UK. In fact, it was founded, created and developed in Sweden
