If there one thing I love about my Mac (beside the OS) that’s without doubt Exposè. It allows me to easily switch between all my open apps and, if combined with another great feature such as Spaces, it just becomes a killer app for your workflow.

Now, I always dreamt to have such a feature on my iPhone but – strangely – Apple never built it. And here comes Steve Troughton Smith with Orbit.

Orbit will soon be out in the Cydia Store at $1.99, most likely today. I had the chance to test a review build and I’m shocked about it.

It works great.

Yeah, you heard that right: Orbit is both Exposè and Spaces and it definitely works flawlessy.

Once you download the app from Cydia (you’ll need a jailbroken iPhone) , I suggest you to put it into your Dock for a best use. Then, with only one tap, you’ll see all your Springboard pages.

As you can see, Orbit will show all your pages in small squares and with a single tap you’ll be able to jump to the page you want. The operation is smooth and the animations are great. Moreover, it features an elegant UI by Louie Mantia.

This is a total time saver to me: instead of having to browse all my Springboard pages to find the app I want, Orbit gives me a quick glimpse in just one second.

By now, I can only say that this is a dream come true. Really.

Go on refreshing the Cydia Store, Orbit will be out soon.

Now if only it could expand the number of pages… or add folder organization, I would jailbreak just to get this.

the creator of Orbit, Steve Troughton Smith, also has an app much better then categories; called Stack V3. Currently in alpha testing. it makes Categories look ancient.

they’re different… but remember that stack is a sort of SpringBoard Addons which needs RAM (and unless you own a 3G[S], we do not have so much of it)

Categories, doesn’t use nor CPU or RAM unless you open it… :-)

The Orbit app is based on a concept developed by Ocean Observations. To see the original video that inspired Steve to make this app, visit us on:
